Guy, beautiful and colorful landscape with an equilibrium between the inanimate rocks and very alive moorland heather and the grassland and trees in the background. Here again I not only learn about photography, but also about the english language. In this case the words knucklestone and moorland heather. Nice composition with the foreground, mid ground and background. Very sharp and nice clouds. It has all the elements of a great landscape photo. |

Joe, very colorful and photojournalistic image. Good light. Shows a seen of everyday life. Interesting how this wagon is so full of very carefully and good quality wood work with beautiful hardware and nicely maintained. Overall the gypsies (Romani people) are not well seen or welcome in most places since they have a reputation (unfortunately generalized) as truants and pickpockets. Good composition and the woman is nicely framed by the door/windows. |

Ian, the right title should be "fearless". It is really amazing to watch these guys defying gravity. Nice action shot captured (frozen) in space. Good photojournalistic and travel image showing a place. Of course the graffiti is never absent in public places. Image is sharp. Almost non cluttered background (he is between the trees. They try their best specially when showing off. |

Vella, beautiful landscape, with very active clouds. It is sharp. Your PP brought out nice colors, however; it created a bluish hue in the background which I reduced. Lots of leading lines in many directions. Nice image. |

Erik, great image of our Florida vegetation, with a very broad path (leading line) which takes my eyes directly to your friends, specially the one with the orange shirt. There is depth so I can see beyond them. Both nicely framed by the vegetation. It is sharp. It is timely and records the moment for posterity. |

Randy, I prefer the color version. It gives more separation to the different layers and items. |

Bruce, good portrait of the butcher in his environment showing his merchandise and tools of the trade. It is sharp, it is a little dark in the front, therefore there is no separation between his dark beard and his dark clothing. Indeed the ham and hook behind him are very distracting and take away him standing out. Answering your inquire, content aware is not the right tool in this case. You do a selection of him and then invert the selection and with the cloning brush using a low setting you clone out. I did a second selection of his beard except his mouth and open skin, and added some light to separate his beard from the clothing. Finally, reduced the brightness of the other ham. Now he is in the center with no distractions and there is equilibrium with the rest of the items on the wall. |

Marius, I pretty much shoot three frames bracketing in all of my street photography, even at night. I use 2 f/stops above and below the control. If the shutter speed end up being too slow (blurred image) I only use the other two and combined them in LightRoom's new feature merge into HDR which is very fast and you can create a group from each set and bulk process them.
I did correct this image fro keystoning, but ended up[ with the person at the edge, and walking out of the frame, too close and creating tension, so I left it as shown, but you do have a good point |

Gloria, obviously the two men are religious and belong to the same group. Interesting as how they are looking at a different direction, perhaps waiting for somebody/parade to pass by, and what happened, and not noticed by them, is the little dog entering into the frame adding interest and fun. The image is sharp. Good equilibrium between the men with the flag and pole creating some separation. |

Marius, now I get it. The bus is not very high, so you were at the same level s the windows. It is also interesting as how the B&W conversion shows more detail. |

Daniel, this image in addition of being from above, is also from behind. There are distracting element in both sides of the frame, as well as behind the persons walking by. The right side shows an amputated bike that you preserved to show the person's shadow projected on the sidewalk. On the other side the stair frame serves no purpose, so it was cropped. The light is very harsh (mid morning or mid afternoon). Timing is of essence. |

Marius, very good example of juxtaposition of images creating a very complex photograph, showing several layers of faces looking in different directions except the woman on the right (my right) of the frame which is looking directly to the camera. Now, I am puzzled as where are you with respect to the picture, since the window of the bus is at your same level. Good B&W interpretation. |

Randy, as I said in Hassan's image here we also have the additional gift of having the maker in the frame. Interesting as how the reflections overlap the large Inca artifact. The young woman coming into the frame adds motion to the image. The image is straight bur because the vantage point gives the impression that is not. Overall it is sharp, and the B&W interpretation is very appropriate. |

Hassan, this month almost all of us are in a glass reflection's state of mind (4 images so far...) In this one we have the additional gift of having the maker in the frame. To me is a little busy with lots of things and colors going on. You can see the barber's face slightly distorted, but nothing else is really in focus. Anyway, it is a timely photojournalistic image. |

Marie, outstanding shot. Well deserved award. Your PP was very successful bringing out detail and color. My only comment would be that we should try to avoid placing the horizon line in the middle of the frame. |

Adrian, great macro shot. The other structures in the field look like body parts of a grasshopper or similar critter. In the original is completely exposed the one on the upper left (My left) but after the crop it became distracting. The other one not so much. The photo stacking technique, specially in camera, is a great feature. I also like the dark tunnel behind the spider and makes me wish I could see more. The water droplets also adds interest to the image. Very sharp up to the middle of the body. |

Randy, great action shot. I also took a cruise around the Arctic circle about three years ago, spending almost a week just around Svalbard. Only saw a mother with a cub dragging out of the water a dolphin skeleton, and a couple of young bears in dry land with no ice. Indeed the loss of the packed ice has taken a toll on the bears since they can not reach food as easy as before needing to swim undetermined distances. Your image is already soft due to the severe crop, probably augmented by the fact that I could not download directly your image from the mail, and probably has caused additional deterioration on the quality. The additional PP done by our group members specially sharpening, has caused a halo around the edge. Even so, it still is a great action shot. |

Bruce, it is interesting how the head of the sea lion is looking up and away, and the complex structure created by the rope and the holder is looking down creating complete equilibrium on the image. The background is soft and out of focus not being distracting. Another sea lion can be detected there. I have visited a couple of places where sea lions conglomerate (New Zealand and San Diego). The stink and the noise created by their sound is just overwhelming. I just uploaded the original, and as you said, very little PP besides cropping. |

Walt, I also was unsuccsessful to photograph Neowise here in south Florida. The light contamination is just overwhelming, plus most of the nights, the ski was cloudy. Your image makes up for my frustration. I now can enjoy its view on a pristine foreground. Well done. |

Mary, indeed you have been privileged to be able to learn and practice underwater photography. I once assisted to one "dry demo" of all the equipment used for dressing, breathing and of course photograph with the camera inside a clear housing and the arms with the flashes, quite an ordeal. The anemone is just impressive. Your crop and PP made it to stand out. I personally think that perhaps a little less saturation would be more appealing. Overall, an outstanding shot. |
