4 Apr 20 Reply Yes Bill, it was a combination of Content Aware Tool, Cloning Brush (Tool) and Patch Tool Apr 28th
4 Apr 20 Comment Ian, I like very much the shape of the building and its reflection on the water which doubles it's size and also works as leading line towards the back classical buildings creating some sort of equilibrium. It is sharp and the colors are well handled. Apr 28th
4 Apr 20 Reply Thanks Stephen Apr 13th
4 Apr 20 Reply Ian, you have some degree of medical knowledge indeed !!!!! Apr 12th
4 Apr 20 Comment Guy, My first impression was that this image represents a coastline: Sand and water until I read your description. It really is an abstract image, which was intensified by your PP. I find distracting the blue line at the bottom. Very grainy but I am sure that was the intention. Apr 9th
4 Apr 20 Comment Bill, very nice image and full of color. Nice composition. I personally am not very fond of the painterly effect in photography, but again; what do I know. The main subject is created by the colorful flowers, complemented by the house in the back which is very well guided to by the walkway leading line. I agree with Erik's crop. Apr 9th
4 Apr 20 Reply Joe, where do you publish your daily posts ? Apr 9th
4 Apr 20 Reply Thanks Erik, much better. The washout colors is consequence of the harsh light of the time of the day on a very sunny day (around 1:00 PM) Apr 9th
4 Apr 20 Comment Erik, good action shot and you caught the rider just before he hits the ground. It is interesting that the only sharp part of the image is the man's face and his chest, everything else is soft denoting movement (artistic blur as some call it). I have been in both rodeo venues in South Florida: Davie and Homestead. The Davie one is also indoors and the light condition is very challenging. The Homestead Rodeo is outdoors but then if it is not a cloudy day you will need to work on the very harsh and contrasting light. Apr 1st
4 Apr 20 Comment Joe, I can see the green dragon. It is very interesting the result of the painting process your daughter has mastered, You will never have two images the same. The image is sharp and the colors are outstanding. It paid off that you waited and documented the process. At first I was tempted to crop the image to make the dragon stand out but the I saw that is wearing a plumage hat and has a blue mantle which are framed by the multiple layers of shapes and colors. Every time I look at it I find more interesting items. If I think medically, your image need a full dose of strong antibiotics since it is full of different bacteria in the layers of tissue.... 5 Apr 20 Reply WOW, what a cool effect. I will give it a try with my grandchildren. Apr 18th
5 Apr 20 Comment Oliver, very colorful and sharp still image of the planters and plants in full blooming. I also frequent the Brookside Gardens when I go to Potomac-Maryland to visit my grandchildren and their parents....Your PP really brought out the essence of the colors. Nice composition (vantage point). Apr 1st
5 Apr 20 Comment Mark, I have an image similar to this one that I converted to B & W and wanted to make the ski very dark what kept getting halos. This came out very interesting and really resembles a long exposure. It is very sharp and the DOF is perfect. Could you please share the link to the process. Apr 1st
5 Apr 20 Comment Barbara, this is very cool indeed. Well done. Of course the original picture of the bird of paradise flower is very nice as well and with balanced colors. My only observation is that you clipped a couple of the posterior sepals in the original, but not in the final vortex rendition.

19 Apr 20 Comment John, the couples seal eternal love with the locks. In many places the authorities remove them because of the excess weight to the bridge structures. Apr 1st

29 Apr 20 Comment Karen it is a swallow-tailed Kite. Interesting on the image is what looks like a drop of something at the tip of the beak. Give some light to the darks (shadows) to show some more detail, but; it is a butt shot. Apr 1st

31 Apr 20 Comment Ella, nice image, sharp and great composition. Good B&W interpretation, and I like very much the reflection of it. There is another Milk Weed image by Dick States in group 06. Apr 1st

58 Apr 20 Comment Jim, I went to Cuba in January 2017 and I have an image of the same lady with a different outfit (I may post it next month) and also with a very large cigar (even larger than this one). Very interesting the art work in her overlarge fingernails which overrides somehow the cigar, and the fact that she is looking away from you adds interest to the image. Her face is sharp. I cropped the image to an 8 x 10 and added an adjustment radial filter to reduce brightness in the background. At 1 US $ per image, her bank account must be considerable. Apr 17th
58 Apr 20 Comment Bruce, I like tis image a lot. Your additional PP made it even better. I agree with Gloria's suggestion of desaturating the reds and in addition I did a new radial filter adjustment in ACR where I Added some light to the man in green, and lowered the exposure outside the radial filter field. Apr 17th
58 Apr 20 Reply Yes Gloria, a wide angle lens usually gives a lot more DOF Apr 17th
58 Apr 20 Reply Gloria, good eye. Yes; I agree that the woman in the background brakes the monotony of the sailors dressed in white. As far as the hand reaching up, I have to admit that I missed it !!! Apr 17th
58 Apr 20 Reply Where did you put the focus point ? Apr 8th
58 Apr 20 Comment Hassan, I can relate to the people in the church laughing after seeing you take the picture from the ground level. I see that you placed your focus point at the icons on the tinted glass in the background (or it was accidental ?) and the midground (cross) and foreground (candles) are slight soft, but these could also be secondary to your low shutter speed (1/13 sec). Overall it tells the story on this christian church. Being so close prevents you from being able to improve the perspective distortion. Apr 7th
58 Apr 20 Comment Gloria, interesting juxtaposition of images including the reflexions of all the inside with all the items outside. It really keeps my eyes going back and forth(inside-outside....) to absorb all the details. It is sharp all the way. The people walking outside are somehow colliding with the reflected items. Lots of leading lines as well taking you towards the red bus. The amputated fan at the edge of the frame is competing with the phone booth outside. Was it a seafood restaurant ?? Apr 7th
58 Apr 20 Comment Daniel, this is a typical market of the arabian countries. Nuts and other goods are sold. Interesting to note that there are sort of clear plastic drapes covering the access to the items adding health protection. I believe this must be the "Modernity" component. The owner is conspicuously hiding behind the counter. The B&W interpretation adds drama to the image. It is sharp. Apr 4th
58 Apr 20 Comment Randy, your image really tells the story of what we are now missing and will miss for the unknown near future. Your B&W interpretation of the live component on the image adds interest and awareness as well as sadness. The bill sitting on the empty table is for me the main subject in the image and works as a leading line towards the people that complement the message. I did crop the image to eliminate the amputated element which are distracting and create tension. It is sharp. Apr 4th

66 Apr 20 Reply Very impressive image. The sky is outstanding. I took the image to CC 2020 and the poles on the shack are perfectly perpendicular. It must be an optic illusion. Apr 7th

67 Apr 20 Comment Larry, two elements I really like about this image: tack sharp in flight with the contrasting green, and the almost painterly effect in the background resulting from your f/stop and as you describe a slight panning. I am not sure if the slight blue hue on the back wing is real or the result of the color adjustments, since normally a male anhinga in breeding colors lacks of it on the wings. Apr 7th

72 Apr 20 Comment Mary, it is impressive the way the cloud sits on top of the illuminated mountain like a giant crown. It is unfortunate that the presence of the rock formation on the left of the frame (our right) is blocking part of it. For me the cloud is the main subject on the image. I just wonder if you could have moved so that you can still keep the balancing rock as well as the whole cloud. On Marie's crop she is taking away both. Apr 21st
72 Apr 20 Comment Abhijeet, Very sharp image and caught in action with the left leg up and ready to proceed. Nice colors. In Bruce's crop I think it is a little tight in the front, reducing the space to jump or fly into. Larry's suggestion is something to explore on. Apr 21st
72 Apr 20 Comment Adrian, it is always good to get out of the box and photograph different things. I like your selection for this month. The frog is outstanding and tack sharp. I believe that the backgrounds are man created. Now as far as the mice is concern, I can feel the tiny spikes making them to think twice if moving or just jumping away. I added some real state to the frame, and had a hard time trying to duplicate the background so I added a vignette to cover some of the flaws, and now they have more space around them. I also agree with the square crop. Apr 8th

72 Apr 20 Reply Bruce, you are right. I got carried away trying to bring detail into the faces of the animals that I did not paid to much attention to the background. Indeed it is a little bright and too much detail. As you can see it is not an usual type of grass but seaweeds. This part of the coast in under water in very high tide. I did work on the background to make it darker and less distracting. Now about the separation of the ewe and the lamb, I waited and never happened; in fact it got worse behind the mother and then they left out of sight to me. I was pretty far away on the top of a hill (1000 mm). Going back to where we got off the boat, I saw another ewe with two lambs, different envinronment: grass and sea, the lambs got busy eating, but the mother never faced towards the camera. I am adding a couple more images as well. Apr 8th
72 Apr 20 Comment Marie, this image really implies solitude and to certain degree sadness, emptiness. Your B&W interpretation intensifies the feeling. I agree with Bruce that a little more punch is necessary. I took the image into Viveza 2 and using adjustment points only to the sky added contrast and structure to the clouds. Apr 8th
72 Apr 20 Comment Walt, this is a very creative image. It took some planning and knowledge of the technology. I wonder who is your out of space model. Your final composite is telling the story of the space invaders that use the light to teletransport their prey. Apr 1st
72 Apr 20 Comment Bruce, the owl is very sharp and the background is nicely soft and not distracting. I feel that the crop may be a little too tight. I would have left a little more of the background and to the front. Your PP made the colors more vivid but the yellow hue looks a bit intense. It works for the eyes but not for the plumage. Here in South Florida the park rangers still care for the burrowing owls and they usually place a frame around them so people and we photographers keep our distance. Your vantage point was really at ground level. Apr 1st
