Lisa, reflections with a clear sky are always nice. The added elements here improve considerable the image, but what really surprises me the most is how eloquent a 12 year's old can be. I sometimes bring back this quote I read somewhere: "Never underestimate the complexity of simplicity" |

Ian, good photojournalistic image. It did record the moment which is what matters for that purpose. It is sharp, and considering the light at the time of the day, you can see details in the faces which were illuminated from the side. I would agree with the crop of the lateral, but no so tight from the top. |

Guy, I like the arrangement of horizontal and oblique lines created by the staircase hand rails and panels. Lots of leading lines in all directions. Good composition. Indeed was luck not to overlap the woman head with the handrail. Good vantage point. In public places we have no control over the background, but waiting pays off. Also, we have Photoshop magic available to us........ (just playing around) |

Bill, you had send me this image to look at before and to consider "To flip or not to flip". I am glad you did not. The B&W interpretation of the attached color image is more dramatic, and after Guy's changes it looks even better. I like the way you framed the train and the tracks which are perfect leading lines. The building with the big sign gives us location. |

Joe, as always you have a great eye for things most of the people and of course photographers do not see. Great combination of images and reflections, and the cherry is the view of Gaudi's La Sagrada Familia which probably will never be finished. You have the added bonus of some people looking out the windows. |

Thomas, this is a very good action image, very sharp and showing pick of activity, improved considerably by your PP adding motion blur +. It really denotes movement and eliminated distractions according to your description. |

Erik, great combination of skimmers and terns flying in groups. The skimmers are in focus, but the terns are not, but still are clear enough to know what they are, the same as the ocean, creating depth and tridimensionality. Now, at the edge of the frame we have a few amputated birds which creates some tension and distraction. Not being this a pure nature group, I used some of the CC2020 magic to clean the distractions. The colors are well balanced. |

Alastair, interesting image. The pattern in the rocks is broken by the opening showing the water. I am not sure if this is a hole on the rocks or because your vantage point is an overlap of one rock over the other. It is sharp. I had an image last November in group 4 which shows the same idea.

Snehendu, Fado (fate in english) is a type of Portuguese singing, originated in the 1800's in Lisbon, is renowned for its expressive and profoundly melancholic character. You have captured the expression on the singer's face. The musicians are all minding their own business. The image is sharp, and the colors are well managed. I think that the singer's face is a little too bright, probably caused by the flash light. Good timing. |

Jim, great image. You captured the performers at peak of action and symmetry. Their face expression is beautiful and shows that they are enjoying their performance. The image is sharp considering the light conditions and 1/20 sec handheld. I do agree that a square format fits the image better, and added a slight vignette. also did a B&W conversion which looks pretty good. |

Daniel, very bright image with a lot of negative space, and the lonely sunbather is sitting almost in the middle of the frame just a little off set but the shadow falls in the center. The image is divided in two by the board or rubber walkway in the sand, and the secondary walkway with the shower works as a counterweight balancing the image. It is sharp. I cropped the image to put the lady completely off center and in the third, and cloned a small are without sand in the upper right corner. |

Hassan, interesting follow up from last month image. Now we can see the blue mosque in the background, and the fishing pols kind of divide the frame in segments as well as frames the fisherwoman. It is sharp. It is unfortunate that the man walking into the frame is amputated, but does add some additional interest to the picture. |

Jacob and Mervyn, it just needed a little more light in the shadows to see more detail on the dry plant, and I added a small vignette as well. |

Candy, great image. Birds in flight, specially coming towards you are more difficult to photograph because of the limited DOF (depth of field) specially with a long lens (almost 500 mm after conversion). Here the bird and the fish are in focus including the tail feathers. Nice colors and sky. |

Adrian, perfect B&W rendition of the color version. Very sharp, the snow is really white and not overexposed. Very impressive landscape image specially for the partially frozen waterfall. The mist really complements the image. |

Marie, very peaceful image of the silhouetted tree branch, the lake and the hiding sunset. I kind of prefer the colors of the original rather than the purple colored water. It is sharp, the horizon line is leveled and placed in the upper third. |

Walt, I kind of like the color version more. You still have the silhouetted human presence, which gives dimension to the landscape, the leading lines toward her given by the stairs, and the beautiful colors of the flowers and the sky. It is sharp. Nice composition. |

Abhijeet, peak of action of a very unusual occurrence, augmented by the presence of the three cattle egrets. Good cropping and composition, it is sharp and the colors are well balanced. Obviously, you were very close to the animals since your lens was @ 220 mm. Nice soft background. Probably once in a life time opportunity. |

Bruce, capturing images of flying birds coming towards you is a very challenging task, since you have to take into consideration Depth of field, which is very shallow in a long lens (800 mm @ f/11). But you were able to get a very sharp image of the front of the bird's body and legs, not so much of the tip of the wings, probably due to motions (speed only 1/1000 sec). The colors are beautiful, and your PP is very good. Normally the white geese in Bosque fly in the thousands together. |

Randall, I am very surprised as how you were able to obtain such a sharp macro image at 140 mm and using f/ 3.2 and with that much depth of field. Tell me your secret. |
