Mary Sue, risky business indeed. To come close to the rubble is almost impossible in the USA unless you are there when it is happening or right after. Demolition ??, earthquake ??, war ??
Anyway, it is a very stunning image. Good composition, sharp, and the blue door takes prevalence in the image. |

Erik, great combination of skimmers and terns flying in groups. The skimmers are in focus, but the terns are not, but still are clear enough to know what they are, the same as the ocean, creating depth and tridimensionality. Now, at the edge of the frame we have a few amputated birds which creates some tension and distraction. Not being this a pure nature group, I used some of the CC2020 magic to clean the distractions. The c olors are well balanced. |

John, the only thing soft in this image is the softball (no pun intended) which is in motion. You did not include the exif data of the image. I also agree with David in relation to a very busy and distracting background, but except for trying to blur it (not an easy task), nothing else would help. |

Mark, indeed a nice image. The complex variety of textures makes it interesting. This old car has been under the element for quite some time, if you take into consideration that lichen grows about 1 to 2 mm per year. Great colors. |

This is the highest vantage point to photograph the Budapest Parliament. The orange building is unavoidable. There is no lower vantage point unless you go all the way down across the Danube level. |

Jim, interesting night scene, with some mysterious implications due to the light conditions. The street lights in the background overpowers the rest, making the carriage and driver dark, with difficulty in seen details. The slightly blurred front leg denotes movement. Nice blue hour light on the sky. Using CC2020 and with a selection of the carriage, added some light, and then inverting the selection, reduced the brightness of the background, creating a more balanced image. |

Lauren, indeed this image is out of the ordinary. You were able to capture a vast variety of dishes all at once from your vantage point. The image is a little dark and has a good amount of digital noise specially in the dark areas (ISO not specified). Of course this noodle shop would not be approved for business by the FDA in te USA (wide open containers, dirty rag on the table top, no gloves on the food handler.....) but I am sure that it was very tasty.
I did add some light to the shadows, and use the color denoise sliders in ligtroom. |

Daniel, great color contrast of the woman in orange dress and the green statues. I like the woman's pose and the fact that she pretends to touch the front worker but she is not. Good composition helped by the horizontal lines |

Gloria, indeed Carl is very proud of his production as you can tell by his face language. Lots of varieties to choose from. He is sharp, and his wife in the background balances the image. Nice pastel colors. |

Hassan, I like the fisherman's pose, withe the cigarette but in his mouth and looking away into the ocean, and all the background blurred but still clear enough to denote location and his fishing pole in front of him. He is very sharp as is his hat and fishing pole creating a very strong foreground. The soft light also gives mood to the image. Nothing to change. |

Pier, this is a good picture of the male cardinal. It is a bit soft as stated by Brenda, plus there is a lot of branches in the way that do not help to the image, but creating obstruction and distraction, but sometimes we can not change the environment. I did some selective sharpening and cropped the image to eliminate some of the branches, and giving the cardinal a more prevalent place in the image. Added a slight vignette as well. |

Walt, at first I thought of cropping the water completely, but then I decided to leave a small hint of water to show location and that it was an iceberg. |

Actually, the featured image crop was minimal. I used the zoom feature on the lens. The image labeled original is uncropped out of the camera using the wide angle setting, and it is another image, not the same as the featured one.. |

Walt, interesting shot. The "nature..al" component must be the Orange Blossom Honey. Indeed is a timeless image. It is very sharp, and the Nik Silver Effex treatment gives more punch to it. Good subdued color. |

Adrian, nice landscape that fits well in a nature + group (ours). I like the B&W interpretations since it does have more punch. I am having second thoughts about the crop. Probably would have left it as the original. The image is sharp from the front all the way to the back. The rocks in the foreground and side do lead our eyes to the background. |

Marie, nice landscape image. The colors are very bright. Good balance from the foreground to the back ground, augmented by the clouds. No overexposed area. Nice leading line created by the bushes. The crop on the right of the image (our left) may be a little tight. |

Bruce, nice interaction of the young foxes. They are very sharp and the foreground and background are nicely blurred causing no distraction. Good composition improve by the crop. Perfect example of Mendel's law. |

Abdo, in reality you were shooting @ 1050 mm (35 mm/full frame equivalent). Was this hand held ? The reason of the soft image. As a rule of thumb you should always use a shutter speed equivalent to the max mm in your capture (1050 or greater, plus adding some fudge factor por possible additional movement when you press the shutter release). Also the Nikkor 200-500 mm f/5.6 is not the sharpest of the lenses, aggravated by the added 1.4x TC. |
