Elizabeth, sometimes your eyes play games on you, and you get carried away with the les important issues, in this case the wood, and the most important here, the water, got overlooked. Thanks |

Ian, You were able to capture several fireworks simultaneously. Interesting that it does not show the path of the firework ascending, and there is very little smoke in the sky. I believe it must have been a little windy to clear it up. The image is sharp, and the colors are well handled. I use your same technique of about 5 seconds exposure but continuosly. |

Bill, this image is beautiful, the fall colors, the light coming from the side and creating the fence shadows on the ground, creating additional depth. The path becomes an infinite leading line. The fallen leaves on the ground also intensifies the fall colors mood. I did play with the warp tool in photoshop and was able to straighten the pillars for Joe |

Joe, as usual, you always show us the unusual.... Interesting structure. Well placed in the canvas, nice colors, sharp, and with Erik's tweaks, now sharper. Beautiful warm colors rendition. |

Guy, the image is very sharp, the B & W tones are perfectly managed without overexposure in the whites. I must agree with Erik that you can make two different compositions with the content of the frame. One structure is competing with the other being both architectonically interesting but apparently unrelated. I cropped into two images and mae a composite changing the placement on purpose to show that each one can stand by itself. |

Erik, very nice and sharp reflection of the painted wall. Veronica looks very concentrated looking and enjoying it. the image is sharp, and she is well placed in the canvas with this tight crop, and blurred background. Nice hair light. Good eye. |

Thomas, great actin shot and great compositing job. It looks very realistic specially the two bikers of the sides. The one in the middle does not have room to be there as he approached the end of the hill. anyway, all three are very sharp. The colors are nicely handled. I like the third biker just showing his head and the two in the background. Try to remove the layer of the center biker and it will look just perfect. |

The one on the left is a king fisher, and the one on the right is a hoopoe (Afro-Eurasia and national Israeli bird). Where did you create this Image ? |

Lauren, Nice photojournalistic/travel image. Iconic of the site. I like the way the oriental gentleman closed his eyes upon the pigeon taking off from his bald head. The blurred background on his right complements the image and does not compite with the main subject, still denoting location. I think that the background on his left does not add, but perhaps creates some distraction, so I cropped it and took him off center. The man is sharp. Added some light to the shadows, and reduced slightly the highlights. |

Jim, good photojournalistic image with historical value. It is amazing how this dinosaur machines still can run. I like Hassan's idea to emphasize the conductor and his control room. Did a selection and increased the brightness and shadows, and added a vignette to accomplish that. The B&W interpretation has more impact. |

Gloria, good representation image of the day of the dead. The young woman had a good painting job on her face. It is sharp and sidelith. My only observation is that you amputated several fingers of her right hand crating a distraction pulling my eyes in that direction. Perhaps it should have been included completely, or not at all. The catch light adds interest. |

Hassan, great backlith image, creating a magnificent shadow on the ground, The location is also good, the intersection of two streets, and the presence of the other people adds interest to the image. The B & W interpretation also gives more impact to the image. Well done. |

Daniel, I like the expression on the face of the girl. It is unfortunate that the other two people are amputated midbody which creates a great distraction. Sometime you can move around, time and scene permitting, and change the composition and avoiding this. Perhaps you should have included the whole image of the person at the door, holding a pearl necklace. |

Bruce, I created this image in March, way before the birding festival which takes place in April. This was at the end of the day, and very few photographers were around. During the birding festival is a nightmare, to get a good spot you have to be there early and move fast in, before the blob..... It was good to meet you in person. |

Marie, the only element in your image that falls into our group topic is the water in the canals. Anyway, you are presenting us a very iconic image of Venice showing the means of transportation, and real state there is of premium value so people do not have terraces or balconies to hang the cloth to dry by the sun. The condition on the bricks depict the effect of time and the elements (water) on them. Nice reflections on the image. |

Adrian, you are a fast shooter being able to capture this image. Perfect timing. Obviously, the elephants were in the shadow keeping away from the strong sun, plus the protective effect of the sand on their thick skin. Great capture. |

Walt, you are not afraid of the dark in the wilderness. Is the only way to create this type of images. I like the way you treated the frame eliminating the roadway (presence of progress.....)You were able to capture some stars. It was a very clear night given the strong shadows. It is sharp. |

Mary, this month we are on an elephant state of mind, and as a follow up of last month indeed. Good capture showing both mother and child walking simultaneously. The position of the mother on the outside implies protection. Nothing in the frame is distracting. Good that you were ready !! |

Bill, do you have a little more real state in the original RAW image. The lady's handbag is touching the edge and creation a lot of tension. I personally like the B&W better. |

Margaret, is a beautiful bird but the image is too dark so you can not appreciate the colors and details of the feathers. And yes the crop is giving a lot of empty space that does not do any good to the image. I wonder if you have more real state below the bird, so it does not create tension being so close to the edge. I added light to the shadows, now we can appreciate the reflection in the water, lowered some the brightness, added some clarity and cropped to emphasize the bird more. |
