4 Apr 19 Reply Ian, also a good point. Thanks Apr 13th
4 Apr 19 Reply Ian, indeed it worked for you !! Apr 12th
4 Apr 19 Comment Ok, here we go. Food for Thought # 1 removing two wires, # 2 removing all three wires and # 3 straigtening the whole structure so the uppermost wire starts at the corner of the frame Apr 12th
4 Apr 19 Reply Right on !!! thanks Guy Apr 12th
4 Apr 19 Comment Ian, another one of your costumes master pieces. Your instructions allowed a great portrait. The indirect flash avoided strong shadows, and yes the wings are framing the subject. Was the background dark, or you worked it in PP. The face painting also adds to the story telling. It is sharp. Apr 10th
4 Apr 19 Comment Thomas, good action shot and the center of attention is the runner facing us, and sharp, in the right moment when he is receiving a cup with liquid which spilled and got freezed in air in the frame. Good out of focus background but showing the pandemonium goin on. The vignette helped to guide our attention to the runner. Apr 10th
4 Apr 19 Comment Guy, interesting group of leading lines taking your eyes down to the edge of the bridge, but some of them, lost in space (Right upper corner)
Good B &W interpretation of the image with very good whites and blacks. Keeps you wondering what is happening in the undersurface where there is some detail showing.

4 Apr 19 Comment Bill, it is a monster indeed, with horns, antennas and receiving energy from the sun... Technology and imagination combined with AI has no limit. Great creation.

4 Apr 19 Comment Joe, your Oaxaca porch window is very artistic but smack in the middle. The symmetry is broken by the odd number and location of the dogs. The environment is very colonial looking, the colors are very vivid. The image is very sharp. Apr 6th
4 Apr 19 Comment Erik, great image of the aged church. The HDR rendition brought out a lot of detail on the weathered walls and roof, specially the rust. Nicely placed in the frame, and the surrounding green frames the church. I agree with Beverly Caine, and additionally I removed the tilted stick on the tower roof. That is an area of Florida I have not visited as yet. Apr 6th

22 Apr 19 Comment Jerry, great shot and very good PP. You created the mood with no distractions. The B&W interpretation was a good idea. I do the same when going to public events. Take a look on my image in group 04. Apr 16th

31 Apr 19 Comment John, great image. I like the complexity of the tightened rope, but find the white surfaces very bright and distracting. Just toned them down with a selection. Apr 13th

44 Apr 19 Comment Hi Bill, the blue background is too intense. Just toned it down and added some luminance to the white. Apr 20th

58 Apr 19 Reply Gloria, interesting point. I like your crop better than mine. First time I hear about this topic "Clean exit Points" and I read the article, and learned something new today. Thanks. Apr 19th
58 Apr 19 Reply Dan, Is the arm and the leg intriguing or not ?? Apr 19th
58 Apr 19 Reply Thanks Gloria, now that I see the image again, my own critic is that I should have come to a lower vantage point before pressing the shutter.... but that is not always possible when you are shooting from the hip Apr 19th
58 Apr 19 Comment Lauren, your capture can not get any more real than this, The obvious fanaticism and religious believe. Very interesting your vantage point, how you were able to get literally in her face. Her placement in the frame is very good, and the fact that the other women are slightly out of focus, does not take away from her protagonist role, but keeps everything in context. I just cropped a little to remove the mutilated face on the right of the frame. Apr 12th
58 Apr 19 Comment Hassan, the image indeed shows how narrow the corridors are in the old city. The presence of the human component, the boy gives you a sense of dimension and perspective. The B & W interpretation is missing a little of contrast, since all looks as different shades of grey. Only the windows on top of the boy show some whites. The long corridor wall on the left feels like is coming towards you, rather than working as a leading line towards the boy. I cropped the wall to take away from the center the boy and reduce the tension, and added a slight vignette, made the vertical lines straight as well. Apr 10th
58 Apr 19 Comment Jim, great shot, the kid really looks like he is talking or asking for something to FDR by holding the hands of the statue. He is a little bright so I did a selection and dropped the brightness some. It is sharp. I like the combination of materials in the wall forming the backdrop. Nicely composed. Apr 10th
58 Apr 19 Comment Dan, lovely photograph of your grand daughter Violet, Indeed she is enjoying the visit to the Zoo. Yes, she is a little soft but on this particular instance denotes movement since she was running. The fact that she is wearing a red shirt, brings your eyes towards her, but unfortunately the mainly red multicolor dragon at the top of the frame overpowers her, but also shows location (something to do with the chinese new year ??). The rest of the image is sharp. I removed the red lettering in the right lower border and added slight light to the shadows. Apr 2nd
58 Apr 19 Comment Daniel, this month so far we have 2 images of people admiring art in different ways. Your viewer is looking at an image which denotes despair, prisoners asking for some sort of help or wishing freedom from cell 5. The pastel colors also denote some sort of sadness. Now, your viewer is partially mutilated at the edge of the frame which creates a lot of tension, which in this instance may be appropriate. Perhaps, if was looking at the center of the print itself rather than to the explanation of the photograph, it would have more impact. It is sharp. I only straightened the image, and added some brightness and vibrance to the photograph only. Apr 2nd
58 Apr 19 Comment Gloria, interesting image. You photographed the photographer in the middle of the action. He must have found something worth to capture in something that looks like a religious institution in restoration. Now. to be able to see that I had to add a lot of light to the shadows and then decrease the brightness and whites in Light Room. The main subject is well located in the frame, the image is sharp. The red shirt takes your eyes immediately to the photographer. The subtle white stroke separates the image from the black background of the desktop. Apr 2nd

59 Apr 19 Comment Bruce, just visiting. I like very much the resulting image after the crop showing the emotional reaction of the spectators in the front, being the rest out of focus which shows the environment without being a distraction and within the context. Apr 13th

66 Apr 19 Comment Ernie, I am really impressed by the amount of detail and texture you were able to bring out in PP, not to mention the cloudy sky. Well done. Apr 20th

72 Apr 19 Comment Mary, beautiful landscape, with great sky and clouds created by the HDR PP with Photomatics. I added some more light to the mountains, trees and reflections. It looks now more vivid. No cropping. I like the immensity of the sky Apr 20th
72 Apr 19 Comment Walt, amazing sharpness indeed. Since you cropped the petals, I added a vignette to take our view directly to the center of the flower which is the most interesting part. Also made the yellow less bright. Apr 17th
72 Apr 19 Comment Abhijeet, I agree with Adrian's observations. I did lower the brightness of the background, and doing some burning and using the healing brush, was able to repair all the overexposed areas. Beautiful bird. Interesting that you were able to keep good resolution after this great crop. Also added a slight vignette. Apr 12th
72 Apr 19 Comment Bruce, this is a beautiful bird that I have never seen. You captured him/her at the pick of the action grabbing the berry. The image is sharp and the colors are outstanding. To me it looks like you did not do any PP work, since the image is full frame and shows no difference. The 400 mm with the 1.4TC (560mm full frame) gave you a beautiful bokeh with no background distraction. Apr 6th
72 Apr 19 Comment Adrian, the hummingbird is very sharp, and the fact that you captured the bird with the tongue out adds interest to the image. The out of focus petals around him, overpowers his presence. I added some additional light to the shadows, decreased the brightness to add detail to the tongue but with not much help, and finally cropped to remove the excess red petals, improving the framing of the bird, and added a slight vignette. Apr 3rd
72 Apr 19 Comment Kent, great image that I labeled coexistence. Even though there is enough water space, it is not usual to see this two species together, but it happens. Your crop isolated the three elements, but at the same time took away some of the sharpness making the image soft. Your additional PP brought out color and detail. I like the composition of the triad. I did a selection of them and decreased the blue hue and increased the saturation of the colors. Added a slight vignette. Apr 3rd

89 Apr 19 Comment Margaret, the beauty of the ice and sea is in the original, specially the reflections. Part of the ice looks too bright, and the reflections in the water a little dark, Also made the horizon line straight. Added some light to the shadows, and with selections reduced slightly the brightness. With another selection applied the dehaze filter to the mountains in the background. Great shot indeed, and the weather was in your favor. Apr 17th
