4 Mar 19 Reply Thomas, I like the title "Hope and Despair" Mar 22nd
4 Mar 19 Comment Thomas, "Herzlich willkommen". You must still be tired from the great walk through the tiger and turtle sculpture. The weather was nice with a great blue sky with no clouds to distract. Your "multiple you" images are sharp as is the sculpture, and nicely separated to give you the sense of flow and movement. Indeed a very elaborated photoshop work. Mar 20th
4 Mar 19 Comment How about this version ? Mar 18th
4 Mar 19 Reply Erik, congratulations for the high score. These are the "limitations" of a print to be mounted for competition. It has to stick to a "standard" size. Mar 18th
4 Mar 19 Reply Guy, I like your story telling !! Mar 18th
4 Mar 19 Reply Joe, this are breeding season only colors. Mar 17th
4 Mar 19 Comment Erik, what a great capture of the cattle egret's family to be. I agree with you about Gatorland in Orlando is a great place for florida bird photography. It is very sharp, and you caught mama at the peak of rearranging the nest and position of the eggs. I recently incorporated Topaz Studio and its AI clear by suggestion of our common friend and member of this group Bill Buchanan. I personally prefer a tighter crop to make it a more intimate image, and of course; I could not resist to flip it. Mar 13th
4 Mar 19 Comment Ian, this image from the same event shows more action indeed with the interaction of two boats coming to the turning point, denoting high speed by the water displaced and by the counterweight maneuver done by the man in the red boat. Sharp and nice colors. Mar 12th
4 Mar 19 Comment Bill, outstanding ice image, very sharp and good composition. I was told by a geologist that the blue in the ice is consequence of very strong compression forces in the glacier. It was worth your drive. Mar 12th
4 Mar 19 Comment Joe, one tequila, two tequilas, three tequilas....floor !!!
Welcome back. Interesting sign La Cantina. Great colors and sharpness with the corresponding shadow.

4 Mar 19 Comment Guy, I agree with the judge, the image does have a magenta cast on my monitor as well. I took it into ACR and used the auto white balance and the auto general settings which eliminated the magenta cast, added color and contrast to the green in the mountain, and enhanced the golden light reflected from the beach huts. The presence of the human component would have given sense of dimension and more interest. It is sharp. Nice composition with the diagonals. Mar 9th

17 Mar 19 Comment Sheldon, Added light to the shadows, cropped it and added a vignette. Attention is now centered on the sculpture. It is sharp. Mar 9th

19 Mar 19 Comment Tracy, never underestimate the complexity of simplicity, and this is what this image implies. I just straightened the water fountain and cropped it to the rule of thirds. Now there is less empty space. Mar 9th

23 Mar 19 Comment Brian, hope you are recuperated by now. Good action shot, but it is not suitable for nature. It shows a small ring and wire on the right talon. Mar 9th

58 Mar 19 Reply Here are the two options you mention: Mar 20th
58 Mar 19 Reply Hassan, yes you are right. The light was very harsh, and the cover of the bucket got overexposed. I had to tone it down, but there is no detail. Mar 20th
58 Mar 19 Comment Jim, interesting sets of eyes looking towards you, the graffiti's and the artist's. I like Gloria's crop, taking away some of the background overpowering and distracting of the mail element, the man, and placing him off center and as she says, in the third. It is sharp, the colors are vivid. Mar 17th
58 Mar 19 Comment Lauren, indeed a very unusual pet to be carrying around, as is the owner with working man hands, and large metal rings on his right hand. I like the way you used a wide open f/stop to create focus only on the rat's eye/face and bokeh in the rest of the image. I think the image will have more impact with a tighter crop. Also eliminated a few bright areas on his belt. Good B&W interpretation. Mar 9th
58 Mar 19 Comment Dan, good example of a geometrical image with areas of shadows that crosses over the actual supporting wires creating an intricate figure. The black area may be a little large creating empty space, but gets confused with the black background of the screen. With regards to the wasp nests. I just darkened the whole shadowed area, and now it is less obvious, however; still present. Mar 9th

58 Mar 19 Comment Hassan, this is another example of your mysterious images of people in the market, this time in color. The man is walking into the light making himself noticeable, but we do not see his face, therefore remain mysterious. Interesting way as how the pillars and the arch above him frames his presence. I would probably tone down the green signs above, and the white square on the side, since they are distracting elements. Mar 8th
58 Mar 19 Comment Daniel, good interaction between real and unreal.... The couple are busy eating and minding their own business, ignoring what is around them. Nice not distracting background, sharp. I probably would crop some water of the lower half of the image, panorama style, since there is not a good reflection. Mar 8th
58 Mar 19 Comment Gloria, I like the way the man gets incorporated/confused with the people in the actual mural, more so since his head is framed by two bystanders. Also the presence on the other man going down the ramp, denotes motion. The is presence of leading lines in the ground and the wall taking you towards the standing man. It is sharp. Mar 8th

67 Mar 19 Comment Michael, I took your color version image, cropped it the same as you did and using a combination of Topaz B&W Effects and Viveza 2 from the Nik collection, I was able to keep the whites hot spots to a minimum and gave a little more structure to the clouds, and did remove some of the grey scale in the ground increasing the contrast. 69 Mar 19 Comment Candy, what did you do to get the uniform background Mar 6th

72 Mar 19 Comment Abhijeet, nice action shot. I like the colors of the background, contrasting with the green of the birds. The shadow over the rocks enhances the image. I agree with Walt about the banana, so I cloned it out. Also reduced the brightness and added light to the shadows. The crop left the tail of the bird touching the edge of the frame creating some tension. It is sharp. Mar 9th
72 Mar 19 Reply Walt, actually in the first PP version the foreground was darker, giving as you mention, a more silhouetted appearance, and then I thought that perhaps should denote a more environmental image. Neither one is wrong.... Mar 9th
72 Mar 19 Comment Bruce, I like this image very much. The large size of the file allowed a considerable crop, keeping enough sharpness and detail. The background is nicely handled (bokeh with f/3.5). The colors are nice. Indeed it is a place for eagles when you see many more in the original image. Good composition in the final image. Mar 7th
72 Mar 19 Comment Mary, you do not give details of the capture (metadata). Indeed the super crop left you with a very soft image with no details, and I think the crop is a little tight in the front not giving enough space for the bird to flight into. I was in Bosque del Apache last december. It is a very interesting place to go for bird migration photography. Mar 7th
72 Mar 19 Comment Adrian, you were there at the peak of the action and right before one of the wildebeest would become alligators lunch. Your square crop really selected the most interesting area of the frame. The f/5.6 focus seems to be centered right at the alligator area, so the DOF is lost in the background were it is soft, probably worsened by the large crop. Mar 7th
72 Mar 19 Comment Kent, good landscape image with all the elements:foreground (better seen in the PP image), midground and background. Nice colors in the sky, it is sharp. Mar 7th
72 Mar 19 Comment Walt, great image. MW photography is something I have not explored nor mastered yet, so I can not do any technical comments. Great PP since you were able to bring out more detail. The blue tent adds interest, but may be overpowering the MW. It may need to reduce the brightness. Yes both central elements (pun intended) are in the middle of the frame. Mar 7th
