Ian, great fall colors image. The exposure is long enough to create the silky effect on the water. I do not think that the foliage needs to be toned down, but I did flip the image, which places the tree in a non dominant position, so the brightness is not as obvious. Nice composition. I like the way the stream of water becomes wider an fills the lower edge of the frame. |

David, interesting creation. I did see the silhouetted shape with only three fingers, but was not sure. The upper section cropped by Joe looks to me as a halloween mask which goes well with the title of your image. Nice colors. |

Guy, your collection of images related to Staircases and Architecture gives you the right to hold the title of "stairs Master". Interesting image with a combination of straight and curved leading lines and colors with a strong element in the middle framed by the wood curved structures. It is sharp and you composed all the elements well in the frame. |

Bill, what a delightful image to my eyes. The composition, the colors, sharpness, and I also, as David mentioned, thought on first sight that there was a bird taking off from the tree. I missed this part of the trip with you guys. Interesting effect of the double narrow frame. Just out of curiosity, I wish we had the original image before applying the Akvis Sketch to see how much crunchy the tree looks. You has a beautiful day. |

Erik, you are a good scouter for interesting places to photograph. I like this image very much for the nature of the houses, tall and narrow, and the way the awning over the door creates a nice shadow according to the width being, all different. About the colors, yes a like them a little darker, but not including the sky, and last but not least, I do not see the boats docks either.
The image is sharp, and I like the composition, improved by the leading line created by the walkway. |

Joe, I am so glad that you have adopted the "Isaac's flip" and that you have incorporated Aurora into your armamentarium. It is a great prgram for HDR, even with a single image. I like your perspective, and only had to correct the image for vertical straightness slightly. The colors aqre great, and it is sharp. |

Jim, great capture. I agree with Dan's crop, and the intrusive kid makes the image more interesting adding some humor to it. Sharp and well composed. |

Gloria, that will stand in a print, but in digital, the sky is the limit..... I like the color version as well. This is my rendition. The cleaning was done with the content aware filter in Photoshop CC . |

Deborah, you had a good vantage point to catch the last catch (pun intended...). It is sharp in spite of the 1/200 sec exp. I like the way all the street lines are cock-eyed giving to the image a lot of interest as well as functioning as leading line towards the juggler. The right side of his face is a little overexposed so I reduced the brightness to improve it. |

Hassan, indeed the image tells the story. Your vantage point sitting on the cafe gives predominance to the expresso (or tea) cup which is in focus. The light is coming from the left illumination the table top and partially the flower's pot. You can see all the movement of people in the background through the window, and what you mention, the tram. The red and white table cloth is slightly distracting. |

Daniel, the shirtless captain (he is in the control cabin) is very sharp, and the B&W interpretation improves the mood since it brings out the tatoo's in his arms. The window frames him well, and there are not distracting elements. He is well positioned in the frame. He is looking away from you, probably not noticing your presence. Nice shoot. |

Gloria, you captured the kid in full action taking a picture, and resembling the same erected position like the stones in the background, which balances the image. It is sharp. Good B&W interpretation with blacks, whites and greys. For some reason, the flipped image does not work for me. I think the crop in the kids feets is too tight. |

Dan, nice B&W interpretation of the image. It is sharp, created with a very low vantage point giving the lady predominance in the image. I find the cut shoes very distracting and blocking the first plane in the foreground, so; using the patch tool as well as the healing brush, I was able to remove them. Also the horizon line is in the middle of the frame, so I cropped from the top. Did she notice your presence, or this was a real candid shot ? |

Mervyn, I Took the image to Luminar and used the preset fix dark image. I think it is a very unusual finding, and does compensate. |

Kent, indeed the crop made the image. In the original it gets lost with the tree trunk and the background. The bird is very sharp. I cropped it slightly more to move the owl off center, and cleaned a couple of blemishes. Also processed the image trough one of the pre-sets of Luminar 2018 that improved the colors. Good capture. |

Abhijeet, good capture of the Capped Langur. It is sharp, and well placed in the frame. He seems to be aware of your presence in spite of the distance (600 mm) since his eyes are looking directly into your direction. Your pp brought out more detail and color. I took the image into Luminar 2018 and used the fix dark images, and brought out more color and detail. Finally, doing a selection of the background, reduced the brightness to make less obvious the screen in the background. He does not look like a happy camper. |

Bruce, great capture of the brown bear waiting to catch the salmon. Indeed the moving water creates the effect of a whirpool. It is sharp, the colors are natural, and you only needed a small crop the eliminate the different background. Good placement of the head in the frame. |

Mary, interesting rendition(abstract) by the use of software of only a segment of an interesting picture by itself (nature-underwater) which is a lovely image. This technique is similar to your image submitted in the past (April 2018). I prefer to comment about the original image, it is sharp, full of color and the flash illumination is showing us the real colors which are not appreciable underwater. |

Colin, I find your image very interesting. It is sharp and waiting indeed paid off since both barbers are giving you their back and you can see the braces very well, and creates equilibrium to the image. The presence of the customer sitting adds a lot of interest to the image. I find the blue and bright reflection too strong and competing with the rest of the elements in the frame, and I am not sure what they represent, if related to the barber shop at all. I understand that it is very difficult to remove them, more so since are related to the title. |
