Bill, congratulations on your HM "murals In the Market". I am glad that at least one of the images included the human component. What software did you use to put it together, and I now know that you like "heavy Metal Rock"
Now this image is very nicely composed, sharp, full of color, and the walkway is a strong leading line to take us to the building in the background, which size was kept proportional with the use of your choice lens. Additionally, the building is nicely framed between the two walls. A couple of other cities with the same projects of mural art: Atlanta, and wynwood/Miami (https://streetartmap.org/atlanta-street-art-maps/all-neighborhoods-street-art-mural-map/

Joe, great image of the boat with a nice backdrop represented by the castle and the green environment. In fact what I heard is that if you want to see green and castles, go to Scotland... The boat is sharp and works as a leading line to view the rest of the image. The castle is completely vertical so the image leaning to the left must be an optical illusion. The yellow translucent area in the lower corner is distracting, so I desaturated it. Did add a slight dehaze improving the ski and clouds. Very peaceful image. |

Guy, this image goes along with the modern concept of street photography. The legs imply that they belong to people. The wet pavement denotes water even though we do not see the water jets. The blurred reflections shows movement. There is some haze which adds mystery to the image. |

David, the placement of the camera on a low vantage point really gave you a great perspective. I recently got a device called Arsenal which also gives you total control of your camera from your iPhone and have been playing with it. I agree with you to leave the silhouetted people since it gives sense of dimension. I wanted to give more predominance to the lighthouse in the frame, so I cropped it fro the right and from the left, liking more the left sided crop (sorry for your signature). The problem of the shadows and highlights control is that it gives you a halo around all the elements in the frame. |

Erik, great capture. Many times these are confused with the tiger dragonfly. Perfect placement in the frame. The background is soft and homogeneous so it does not compete with the main subject. Tack sharp. |

Ian, congratulations for being invited to the event. Not a lot of photographers get the honor. Indeed, a very creepy image to say the least, and I agree with Barbara, that she would never care for my offsprings. Great set up and illumination with effects, but of course the capture of the moment is in the photographer's eye. I reduced slightly the highlight and added a little light to the shadows. |

My August 2018 image in group 04 was of a Lotus and a Bee (http://psadigital.org/group04/image.php?iid=28550). This was taken in Washington DC. |

Gloria, great informally posed portrait of Ernie SOOC. Very intense and his hands are a very important component of the composition. Jim's vignette obscures them taking away this important element. Your work around the image placed his face in a good position. Great B & W interpretation. It is sharp and well composed. |

Jim, indeed she is not a happy camper. The HDR has made her facial features a lot more stronger, as well as the colors which express a very harsh light. The crop is too tight also amputating one of the cat's leg, but an interesting image indeed with some distracting elements that are difficult to avoid in street photography. |

Dan, the beer kegs tell the story. I second the interesting analysis done by Deborah. The image is sharp. The arrow shaped section of the sky works as a leading line pointing down as well to the beer kegs. Good composition |

Deborah, I think "Chimping" is a better title for this image (the habit of checking the back screen in digital photography after each capture)... Now, the color desaturation treatment made the image more interesting. I like the low vantage point used, and the the "grey mood" after the rain. It is in focus. Good balanced composition with a central image facing us, and three photographers on each side which creates the balance, and the only ones wearing blue. Good capture. |

Hassan, quiet an interesting image which has all the elements that international street photography judges want. All the wining images of last year Miami Street Photography Competition had ver dramatic and contrasting features as this one: decapitated and out of focus foregroung, incomplete elements in the middle ground (here windows and bags on the oposite wall), and an overexposed background with silhouetted figures, all of which keep my eyes busy and studying the image in its entirely. Good eyes !! |

Dan, most likely I used one of the Luminar 2018 pre-sets to finish the image. It really intensifies the colors |

Abhijeet, great capture of this Kingfisher with what looks like nest building material hanging from his legs. The colors are outstanding and the image is very sharp. Good cropping and superb management of the background. No further suggestions. |

Kent, the landing goose is the most sharp bird in the whole frame and I would say the center of attention as well, in spite of the small size. Indeed there is a pandemonium eating corn spree. The presence of the hand-of-man is present but very subtle and out of focus, so I do not think it would disqualify this image from a nature competition, except of the fact that it is very busy and there is a lot going on through the whole frame. The fact that is man planted I think does not affect the topic. There is an added element of distraction on the left wing of the landing goose that can not be cloned out. A tighter crop improves somehow the image. |

Bruce, great capture with peak of action. The bear is very sharp, and the water motion adds interest to the image. The crop really removed all the distracting elements in the frame. I would have placed the bear a little off center. |

Tony, beautiful flower. It is sharp and great DOF (f/22) showing a lot of detail in the center. You were able to bring out color in your PP. I lowered the brightness, added a little of vibrance (more detail is now available) and added a vignette to cover some of the distractions in the corner. My other suggestions are to try and change the vantage point (not dead on) and try to include the whole flower in the frame |
