Guy, really a great shot indeed. I have also placed myself flat on my back on the ground to create images with the favorable vantage point, and of course, I did not care about the look given by the passersby's. Very good composition, and it is very sharp so that you can see all the detail and color variations in the wood parts. My eyes en up up at the lights in the second level. In actuality I can see two different helicoidal structures. Nothing to change. |

Joe, great landscape of the area showing the magnitude of the cenote given by the human component in the image. It is well composed, it is sharp and the colors are very natural. Interesting is the presence of the two individuals over the water on what seems to be a hanging bridge. Of course the formations created by the erosion add interest to the image. |

Yes David, I agree. The brownish color of the water is due to the street light also reflected in the surface of the dark water. The exposure was not long enough to smooth it more and perhaps avoid that color contamination. |

Ian, good portrait and PP. Perhaps the color in the face is oversaturated and full of detail. Now, the "hanging silver thing" which is part of the uniform, indeed is distracting. Using the clone stamp at 0 hardness I just left a slight rim to separate the elbow from the background taking away the distraction. The red in the gloves and the red mask work as a triangular leading line to take your eyes to her face. Good management of the background. The white frame really separates the image from the monitor's black background. |

Erik, your hunter's eye worked for you again. I probably would have never seen him since his colors blend so well with the background, that is almost invisible. He is keeping an eye on you. It is very sharp, nicely composed, and all the dark twigs frame him very well, now that I can see him.... |

David, First of all, congratulations for having an image in the february members showcase. Interesting image; and again, I have learned something new in photography today. I spoke to Mr Google and asked him what the invisible black background was, and he found Dewis video explaining the process, which I find it to be very "cool" and I will place it in practice. Now about the image, I see that they used a "Cuban Domino's" (they are the only country that play to double 9). I do not see much difference between the two images, perhaps you just cropped a little from the top. I do like the leading line on the left taking you into the game and then to the back where the other pieces are accumulated. The shadow do give depth and tridimentionality to the image. It is sharp from the fore to the back. |

Bill your image is so sharp that it looks like the pelican is coming out of the frame. The colors are spectacular, and the blurred background creates a very beautiful and non distracting backdrop. Of course, the flip made "the difference" !!! |

Elizabeth, very original character the Tree Man and him hugging the Tree is a kind of reinforcement of the fact and telling a good message about caring for the plants. The face of the tree man looks slightly soft, perhaps your camera took focus at the tree itself. The same is true for his hands wrapping around the tree. Also I find that there is a lot of empty space above his had, so I cropped the image, and now the attention is more centered on the face of the tree man. Good composition. The out of focus trees in the background helps to frame the tree man. Added a slight vignette. |

Hassan, very natural wax creations. Very colorful and the blue and red as primary colors draw your attention immediately. I like your vantage position and the fact that the focus is in the first character and then it fades off towards the back. Good cropping. |

Jim, nice image of the A team, minding their own business. Each kid is concentrated and thinking what to do with their balloon. The colors are very bright and nice. The image is sharp. The girl in the center is the main subject with her eyes lost in space. Five is and odd number which also adds interest to the image. |

Daniel, good capture. Each individual complements each other and it seems like an altered reality mirror image of each other and balances the image. The slightly blurred background makes the image more interesting and your eyes are forced to evaluate all the details in the back. The light pole in the back completes a triangular composition as well. I flipped the image and cropped some of the frame to eliminate distracting elements. |

Gloria, interesting image of a possible homeless on the streets of Miami (lack of care of his skin and nails). Indeed he is looking and posing to the camera in addition of giving you the high five. He is the center of attention in the image, therefore I eliminated some of the distracting elements:The traffic light, and the color of the signs on the window. It is sharp, and I think that a little cropping from the left of the frame emphasizes the center of attention. |

Bruce do not waist your time and money to go to Viera, I was there 2 weeks ago and the amount of construction going on scared away all the wildlife. Literally Viera was birdles |

Bruce, I think this is a very good image of the roadrunner. It is sharp, the blurred background is non distracting, the position of the bird in the frame is fine, but I think that the orange color is oversaturated and unrealistic. That could have been the negative aspect about it. I reduced the orange saturation, added a litle light to the shadows, and flipped the image (just my thing...) |

Abhijeet, good PP and cropping of the original image. You brought out color and detail, and the baby elephant "close up" shows the immensity in the size of the mother. Here it shows the "human presence and intervention" with the chain on the mother's left leg, and probably would not qualify for the PSA nature division, but still is a very good photojournalistic image. It is sharp. |

Nat, dragonfly's are difficult to photograph, and I am impressed that you were able to come so close with a 50 mm prime lens and your model did not fly away, and also surprised of the impressive depth of field at close distance and at f/4.5 and 1/200 sec hand held. The point of focus plane, which is tack sharp is the body and tail of the red dragonfly, and the wings close and far are blurred as expected. The blurred background works well as a backdrop and it is not distracting. Just an observation that does not change your presentation or my comment is that the original is not the same frame as the PP, but one of the burst of images. |

Kent, great composite of the january trilogy: Super Moon, Blue Mon and Blood Moon of the eclipse. To make this type of photograph's it takes planning and sacrifice (monetary and physically; ie right equipment, extended hours of exposure to the elements and lack of sleep). Right amount of cropping to get perspective and some stars, blue sky and good sharpness. I just added slight light to the shadows to see more detail of the observatory, and did a little noise reduction, both in ACR (Adobe Camera Raw) |

Vic, great action shot indeed. The sandhill cranes are very sharp, the colors are well balanced and I like the fact of the fighter's are in the center of the frame and a group of spectators minding their own business, and with a superb non distracting background. I just added a slight vignette to bring your eyes more to the fighting or foreplay dancing cranes |
