Actually if you look at the original2 picture, it looks like a giant hillbylly's moonshine distillery still |

Ian, nice image. You captured the light at the right time. the spotlight effect mimics a strong vignette. The combination of colors is nicely balanced. Perhaps decreasing slightly the highlight may reduce some of overexposed branches. |

Erik, your fisherman must have run out of bait using four fishing rods at the same time, and from a Kayak. Nice color reflections in the water. Good placement of the subject in the frame.
I was president of one of the camera clubs for four years. We did/do field trips and combined a meal after that. Increases camaraderie. |

Bill, indeed is a very involved lunch hour with all the conversations going on. I like the way the wood frame coming in an oblique fashion is "framing" all the workers. The distant workers are soft (f/ stop not stated). The colors are vivid. The reflections in the building adds interest. |

Guy, great capture and very good eyes. The reflection of your conga dancers is framed by the architecture of the shopping center and its interest is augmented by the "Benched" spectators. I just wonder if toning down the orange color of the price will take away some of the distraction. Interesting oblique lines as well. |

Bill, this image is tranquility on its maximum expression. I agree with Erik. The colors are strong and vivid. The image is enriched by the master's signature. |

Joe, all our colleagues are wrong, this is an out of space Owl with two sets of mouths . You should send us instructions as how to do it. The colors are vivid, and the image is sharp. |

Daniel, great capture. Actually, you can have two images out of this one, but indeed the combination tells two different stories: the woman on the left is taking a smoke brake after working around the house (The visible stick could be a broom) and she is looking out of the window, and on the right is a neighbour coming to visit. The cloth hanger, the tiles, the window and the rough surface on the wall all complement and frame the two women. |

Gloria, typical attitude of the annoying street vendors that do not give up easily, in spite of the fact that you tell them that you do not want to buy anything..... Obviously, the potential clients do not want anything as they continue to walk their path. I added some exposure, blacks and light in the shadows to get some additional detail in their faces. |

Jim, are they really cops, or as you say, fans ? The uniforms are too formal and similar denoting some degree of organization and responsibility. The colors are balanced and the image is sharp. |

Dan, you captured the image at the peak of the action. You can tell by the face expression of the girl that they are having a great time. The care taker/baby sitter has her own problems with the orthopaedic boot, but she is also having a good time. I like the square crop. There is a slight softness of the girls which implies motion. |

Vic, these are two different images, taken at different times as described by Mary. unfortunately, the PID System, does not allow for two images showing at the same time unless you submit them already together in the same file. |

Yes Kent, this is one of the things you can do with LightRoom and Adobe Camera Raw filter in photoshop (same capabilities but different sliders). You can add light to the shadows, and reduce it in the highlights. With reference to the shadows, that was the direction the light was coming from. You can see another shadow on the right side just posterior to the head. |

Kent, nice capture of the sunrise-moonset as a whole. It is very difficult to create an HDR rendition with the moon in the right exposure unless you take 2 sets of images, being one of them severely underexposed and then select the appropriate frames to obtain the desired product. Photoshop makes this work easier. Just select the moon in the right frame and paste it in the final image as long as there are not clouds or haze which will create a bright ring around the moon making it difficult to paste it. |

Mary, I have to commend you twice this time, first for being able to create these beautiful underwater images, in the film era, and secondly for being able to keep and bring out all the splendor and detail of these creatures after scanning them. This is a unknown territory to me. The last time I went scuba diving at a depth of about 100 feet on a very clear day I looked up and said to myself, there is a lot of water above me and I am not a fish.... That was the last time I did it. I have used a small point a shoot Nikon Coolpix W100 which results have a lot to be desired. I will keep my photography above the water.
The images are very sharp, showing very bright and real colors (red is inexistent at that depth without added light). |

Abhijeet, very sharp image of the dragonfly, and superb PP being able to bring out additional detail and vivid colors. My only critic is that the cropping is too tight creating tension on the right posterior wing as well as the front left wing. You have enough real state in the original image to leave more space both in the front and in the back, so the dragonfly can fly into.
I just cropped your original image to illustrate. |

Vic, this is a lovely image, and your PP brought out all the the vivid colors of fall. The long exposure (not stated) achieved the silky effect on the water fall which is nicely placed in the frame. Agree with the removal of the distracting gold leaves in the upper right. The image also implies water movement. |
