4 May 17 Comment Bill, interesting that the jumping spider posed for you long enough to achieve a sharp image. It is well placed in the frame. I think that the proportion of the size of the spider compared to the flower should have been greater which would have gone well with the title of the image. The out of focus lily and the saturated color frames well the spider and the curve works as a leading line. May 8th
4 May 17 Reply I also was thinking of cropping the vertical bar, but I declined. May 8th
4 May 17 Reply Agree !!! After all, flipping is always an option. May 8th
4 May 17 Comment Erik, nice image of the sandhill crane chick. It is sharp. The colors are warm and well balance. I find the added white vignette to be very distracting taking my eyes to the periphery of the image and away from the main subject. May 8th
4 May 17 Comment Ian, I am very glad that "the waters have calmed after the storm" which indeed applies to your lovely landscape image created with a long exposure achieving the silky (calmed) water effect. It is sharp and the colors are not very intense, adding additional peaceful feeling. Good composition with element in the foreground, mid ground and background. May 8th
4 May 17 Comment Joe, I like your arch within arches image with a very interesting and contrasting color combination. I like the composition but I think flipped has a better perspective since the arches go in decrescendo. May 8th
4 May 17 Comment Bill, flipping is always good... Great capture and a very good portrait of the gorilla with a non very friendly face. It is very sharp, with a slightly blurred background. The colors are well balanced and with the added light to the eyes you avoided the raccoon effect in this type of harsh light for the time of the day. May 8th
4 May 17 Comment Guy, I must be on the same pills you are.... Indeed this image looks like a satellite map of the earth with a storm forming. Your color manipulation made it even more believable. We just need to concentrate and name the continents. It is sharp. You have a good eye, and an even better imagination. May 8th

7 May 17 Comment It is a Cormorant. They sit in the sun with the wings wide open to dry the feathers after fishing. May 8th

58 May 17 Comment Ed, you have proven once more that is not the camera but the driver.... (a.k.a. photographer). Interesting image of the nut's salesman. It is environmental since it denotes cold weather, early spring which is appropriate for eating roasted (warm) nuts. It is sharp. The trees frame the man with his vending car which is nicely decorated. I cropped slightly from the right of the frame to remove the light pole which takes you directly to it, and added some light to the shadows to see more detail of the man's face. May 9th
58 May 17 Comment Liz, Very interesting bridge structure. I agree with Ed in reference to the new vantage point. I did crop the image slightly from the top and right side. I would have been a more captivating image leaving some color on the bikers shirt. Also added slight light to the shadows. May 9th
58 May 17 Comment Daniel, interesting capture with a good vantage point to avoid distractions as you pointed out. It is sharp, I like the face expression of the woman. Both characters are well placed in the frame. added some light to the shadows to bring out detail in the man's face. May 9th
58 May 17 Comment Mofassirul, this image is very interesting. Indeed it is related to some kind of food vending spot, under a tent. All the elements present seem to be related to the food business: glass containers in the foreground, metal on the right lower side, a burner. The boy seems to be familiar with the trade. I like the way you framed the boy between the two wood poles. I cropped slightly the image, made the pole in the foreground straight and added a slight vignette. May 8th
58 May 17 Comment Dan, great capture of this Native American Indian who served during WWII and performed an unprecedented task. It is sharp, and the man is concentrated on the printed material. His ethnic elements really adorn his outfit. I added some light to his face to bring out more detail, and reduced the light in the background to obscure the distracting elements, and also cropped it for the same reason. May 8th
58 May 17 Comment Gloria, I like your image of "one stop shop" since besides being a barbershop, they have a lot of other things available including services of a Notary Public. Now going back to the image, it is sharp and the main topic (barbershop) is distracted by a lot of items in the foreground. I cropped the image, leaving as much as possible elements related to the barbershop, and removing the distracting elements, specially the incomplete panel of the soda machine. May 8th
