Bill, I think that the images of orchids have a resemblance to an anatomic part of the female body. This image is very sharp and has a lot of DOF (Did you do focus stacking ?). The details and colors are well handled, and the white vignette takes your eyes directly to the central part of the flower with no distraction. Good composition. |

Guy, great night scene with lots of detail. I like the star effect on the lamp. I just made the vertical lines in the background straighter, added some clarity and contrast which brought out even more detail, and decreased slightly the brightness of the lamp. It is very sharp, and the B & W interpretation really applies to this image. |

Joe, great image. You captured the nuns in deep conversation. The tall one is concentrated and listening. The image is sharp, and the whites are well balanced. There is a bluish fringe around the heads of the nuns that I could not eliminate. What I did was do a selection of the background and applied some gaussian blur and decreased the brightness. Also added a vignette. Both make the image more intimate and eliminates some of the distracting elements in the background. |

Ian, great capture. The distortion of the frame is consequence of the reflection. The Ferris wheel is reflected more than once making the image more interesting. Very sharp and great management of the colors. Good eye indeed. |

Erik, timing if of essence, and the contrast of the red Brazilian peppers framing the white Egret and the green takes your eyes to the body and matting plumage of the bird, you then follow the neck as a leading line directly to the green in the face, the beak in the water and the reflection which completes this greatly composed image. Very sharp |

Bill, this image is really beautiful. The combination of the Spanish Moss and the fog gives a mysterious appearance. You were able to obtain great contrast with good whites and blacks with Silver Effex 2. I like the composition as is. I added some clarity, contrast and increased slightly the light on the shadows which brings out more detain on the tree trunk and makes the fog more obvious. To make it more intimate I added a vignette. |

Liz, great urban image, with lots of color and interesting messages. Because of your vantage point there is distortion in the perspective. I agree with Daniel that the white tank is distracting so I cropped it. Also in photoshop playing with the warp tool I straightened the tanks and the colorful fence to make it less distracting and still adding the color elements. |

Gloria, this architectural image is complemented by the presence of the woman which adds scale to it, and shows the magnificence and age of the buildings. With the perspective correction, you were able to make the buildings straight and remove the distortion that is created by the wide angle lens (24 mm). The tiles in the ground directs your eyes to the back of the alley, and turns to the right of the frame. |

Daniel, I agree with you, this is a very complex and confusing image. The building's are crossed by a strip of water ?? and I do not quite understand from what vantage point this image was created. The presence of the woman, behind of what looks like a low wall, I do not know if she is part of the reflections or not.
All in all you got me here....... |

Moffassirul, this is a very interesting image. Indeed the man is deep in thought with his fingers crossed and looking down. From all the paraphernalia in the background we could guess that he spends most of his time on that spot. I cropped the image slightly to remove distracting elements and using Nik's Viveza (free from google) I increased the brightness of the smoke, and reduced its structure, made the smoke more dense. Added a vignette to make the image more intimate. |

Dan, great capture. I like the contrast of the two ladies walking in one direction, and the graffiti in the background with the lady and the umbrella (Parasol) going in the opposite direction. I flipped the image, so the ladies move from left and high in the frame, to right and lower in the frame. Also made the vertical lines in the background straight by rotating slightly the frame. The brick wall behind the ladies has several very bright spots, so I cloned the wall to cover them partially. Added a slight levels contrast as well. |
