Hey Tom - I cannot take a decent capture w/ and iPhone w/ the normal lens. Add the built in magnifier and I'm lost. I'm not sure if this softness is all from camera movement. I opened it in PS CC 2017 and used shake reduction and it cleared um some the softness but didn't work completely. The farther from the center the softer the image became. IMHO a tripod would help. I didn't show the image b/c all n all it didn't work for me. |

Ahh Yes - love the was stories;-}. Very nice image. Executed well. sharp white balance appears correct to my eye, sharp throughout and I agree w/ Janet re, the surrounding environs make this story complete. To my eye the extra detritus i.e. pine needles on the subject doesn't benefit the image. The image is very good as is - I believe that cleaning up those shrooms in the field would have benefited the image by contrasting the subject w/ the environment. I removed the pine needles in PS CC
- much easier if done in the field. Let me know what you think. |

Hey Janet - interesting selection. I also like what Dick did with it. Cropping out the
shadows and the flips appears to balance the image in my opinion. |

Hey Laki - very nice work. I'm interested in your exposure settings. Do you use a light-meter. The f-stop is f45, was the flash set to TTL or manual. How do you deal w/ refraction. was it not an issue?
Again - nice work. |

Hey Dick - Thanks for the critique. Forgot 2 things aperture is f 11, I use the 10 sec timer on the Canon instead of the remote. That little flare at the top of the needle - removing it does benefit the image. I tend not to use the dodge and burn tool I think it because the legacy versions of PS and PSE wasn't very good. I used it in the recent pass and it worked very good. I like the changes |

Hey Jane - I'm just a visitor. I am the admin in group #6 (macro) I used to be in 2 groups but life intervened and am just #6. I really like the technique u used to get the final product. I've attempted similar colorizing methods I learned, (from lack of use have forgotten) that employed a blend mode but can't remember which one. I'll hunt it down. The images works very well, sharp, the muted colors benefits the image, in my opinion nicely done. |
