Thanks for the comments. Surprisingly I am often asked to pose for a picture with people in China and other Asian countries. I am sure it is just a novelty for them but also a curiosity about the USA. The Chinese people are generally (not all but most) courteous and helpful. China is changing quickly and not necessarily for the best. The government controls all the news, the internet, and phones. However the people and the Government are very different. People there are wonderful but the government is really a freedom strangling entity to me. An individual recently reported on the corruption of a major Chinese government person which resulted in him having to escape to the USA and his relatives all being arrested and imprisoned. Just remember the people are hardworking and typically responsible. Lastly the Government has applied some of the Western Business approaches which helps to explain how they are doing better business along with their cyber theft of our technology. whew, that was way too much of an answer

Great catch on the butterfly Norm. I agree having a out of focus background is good but the black seems out of place on the flowers in the background. Perhaps a bit of work to replace that area of the background. |

You are correct Stan, the pillars are a real plus. I suspect straightening the image would accomplish Norm's recommendation however I am comfortable with the current artistic view of the image. |

Impressive photo for a hand held 1/5 sec exposure. Really nice color and detail.
I owe you some answers from previous rounds. The Buddhist image was on an ocean island near Guangzhou and the overcast sky was probably not pollution but just a heavily overcast sky the seems to occur a lot. The other is the grungy yellow brownish color in the ice cave. You're right cropping that out helps the image. |

John, you have the coolest trains. Norm is probably right about cropping in a bit since it tends to lead my eye straight through the image. A light vignette may accomplish the same goal and bring the focus on the train. |

Thanks Norm. I tried to clean up the light areas one near his ear and the other the junky looking drain line on the other side. |
