Thank you Stuart. This was done for your benefit. Yes these flat bottomed boats are called punts which the students at Cambridge use to ferry tourists up the river, manoeuvring them with the long poles you can just see in the punt in the foreground punt. The river is not deep and the poles can be used to push the punt forward from the river bed. |

Yes will do as you suggest and crop the White area to see if there is an improvement. As regards the original the colour is as it came out of the camera. Sometimes they appear very Red. Am always amazed at how the IR version straight out of the camera varies so much, I suppose depending on circumstances when you take it, i.e. type of lighting conditions etc. So no explanations there. It is as it came. |

What an interesting idea Sharon and I feel this has worked out extremely well although if you had not already said I would have questioned if Mono was the correct way to go as I would have expected the colours of the different pulses to add interest. However getting a rough idea from your original, I think you are right in deciding on a Mono version. In actual fact, they are different tones of grey and all different textures from smooth shapes to gritty substances and it is indeed an excellent image. |

OMG. What a bold sculpture. What is it supposed to depict. Might suggest some sort of machinery, but am not mechanical so could be totally wrong. This seems to be a very busy image. Bold contrasty sky, lots of trees, but because the sculpture is big in the frame and bold in design it stands out well. Interesting that the pathway leads under the sculpture. A bit of a halo is detected around parts of the sculpture which could be due to slight over processing in Nik. |

A super image Stuart, and oh how lucky you were to have that interesting cloud floating by to add interest in the blank sky. Do like the fact you chose the rock formation with the bushes on top which gives some variation between the bushy foliage and the interesting strata on the rock face. Well done. |

Although never even been to USA this is a very familiar sight, compliments of Ansel Adams. I have got to admit Henry you have made an excellent job of producing such a fine Mono image. I really can't say much more than that. Tonally it is great and just perfect in my eyes. |

Damn. Have just come back from Beamish last week and never entered the park!! From your original it looks as though light wasn't on your side, but you have done a great job processing it to a high standard. It gives the impression of emptiness. No people sitting around, perhaps due to the miserable weather, but in this case feel it has made the image stronger. It is bordering on symmetrical, but not quite and what there is of the pathway is a great lead in to a super image. |
