Point taken Sharon. Here We are so used to churches with well- worn facades that this type of stonework looks so sharp and clean. As you say a case of not being aware or familiar with this type of building material. So effective though. |

Typically the case Julie. Landowners have no consideration whatsoever for photographers. |

And I do enjoy it Henry. You have a contemporary style all of your own. I do love the way you have emphasised this pathway by making it mono against the surreal looking wooded area. Great thinking. Can't say more than that. blown away. |

You seem to have some lovely church buildings across there and this is no exception. The Antique effect suits it very well and I really do like the way you have used the expanse of foreground to introduce the interesting shadow of the tree. My problem with this image is that it is too light and feel it would benefit greatly from darkening it down which would really make a great difference from an 'okay' image into a fantastic one. It could be easily done by applying levels or some other way of processing. |

A great famous Abbey ruin and showing up well with plenty of contrast. Great cloud in the sky in exactly the right position. Feel maybe you've cropped off a little too much foreground as I would have preferred to see a little more so that the Abbey is not overtaking the whole picture space. |

Eeh Julie. You get to some great places. Always fancied going to the Outer Hebrides. Isolated cottage it is in an isolated landscape emphasised by the 'nothingness' around it and vast sky. Really gives you the feeling of the place and how hard life would have been when people were living in its heyday. The fencing of course shows evidence of modern times. Could you get inside and was there any artifacts like the Irish cottages or are they stark empty and only the sheep and cattle use them for shelter. Love the little cottage away in the distance. I expect they are the neighbours!! You have done a great job in portraying this brought about by the angry sky and giving the cottage good contrast to make it stand out against the landscape. |

A Stunning landscape Stuart. IR has served you well. I do like that the spire is dark against the lighter foreground projecting it forward. If anything I would suggest applying a slight curves layer to put more contrast into the image but also crop of the Black area of sky and a chunk of the scrubby foreground to concentrate the eye more on the spire. |

What a lovely little pristine church standing out proud against an uncluttered background. Churches here are cluttered with gravestones around them, which is of course what they're all about , but difficult to isolate as you have done here. So it is all about the church. You have done a great job. My only crit is that the HDR process has put a tad too much sharpening on the pebble effect of the church, but that could be brought down a little and also there is evidence of a light halo effect around the tower, but perhaps that wasn't your doing!!! Nice job though. |
