Another look at the picture, another suggestion!
Darkening the yellow/green jacket, would prevent my eyes being attracted to it. |

Yes, it is a drain. I'm not familiar with the song. My other option for a title was "Down The Drain" - which is an expression used here quite often. |

A hearty welcome to the group - looking forward to seeing your work.
I like your picture very much - for my taste (and my nitpicking ways), however, I would prefer to see some differentiation in the clouds - don't mind the colour, but would like to see something that would differentiate it from the snow in the foreground.
Use of post processing tools in the creative PSA category can be a bit confusing. We all seem to have slightly different approaches - which is very healthy and often educational.
When you described the tools you used i.e. Photoshop brushes, I would define your image as Digital Art, as the trees and snow were not created with your camera or by you. My creative images I define as Photo Art, as I do not use tools that create pixels that did not originate from my camera or created by me. As an example, I do not use Ps Skies. but make my own with my camera.
Having said all this, my take on this is, both Photo Art and Digital art both allowed in our groups. My opinion, ideally our images should be identified as one or the other - so that we can provide relevant feedback. Are we commenting on the makers art or Phtoshop/A.I created art. BTW, my opinion is not widely held - which is OK with me. I enjoy and learn so much from the groups I participate in. |

Suzy - where can I see some of your abstract work. I'm also attracted to the abstract genre, although I have found that abstract art has so many versions, that I developed some guidelines for myself, based on how I see the final result. |

We live in interesting times. My take on technology and photography is fairly straightforward- If one uses a photograph and changes it with technology, you are a Photo Artist. However if you use Ai, to create pixels (I.e "add a mountain") you are a Digital Artist. I have no issues with Ai tools such as sharpen or denoise, as a photographer.
In my case, I have learned a lot about taking pictures with a camera, from technology enhanced images. Especially in improving compositions and effect of lighting conditions. |

Unfortunately for me, it's not high on the creative scale.
When I run into an image that challenges me in making it into an Altered Reality picture, I often go to Gradient Map in Ps, and just play with different colour combinations.
See a version attached - did not spend too much time on it - likely better solutions available.
Hope your new year will be a good one. |

A very creative and well constructed image. Like the story and concept. I have a bit of difficulty with the background as it leaves out what she is jumping from and into. Maybe that is what you intended - to make us think and create our own story. In any case, an interesting altered reality picture. |

My opinion - producing an abstract image, it's seldom a case of 'going too far'. Often results in pushing the creative aspect.
I really like your image and the filters you've used. As you know, critiquing abstracts is always a dicey thing - so I use the much the same criteria as if it's say a landscape. The big difference of course is that in the abstract version there is seldom an observable subject to focus on. For me the most important criteria for abstracts is the composition, with colour as the 2nd most important. When I view your picture my eyes are very nicely flowing through the image, until I hit the blue section. I find it out of place with the reds, yellows, greens and it interrupts my journey through the image - obviously a totally subjective viewpoint.
See my version attached. Flipped it to portrait layout, cropped it, and using HSL in Nik got rid of the blue. What do you think?

I actually have a B&W version with a lot of punch, but wanted to try a softer, aged look. With one of a bluish tinge (WIP), I'll now have 4 versions, all providing a different moodiness. |

It is a very small bluff, maybe 10 meters high. What attracted me mostly, is the reflection. |

You're right, the highlight on the left needs to be toned down. I actually have a B&W version that I like as well. I thought I would try this version for the soft atmosphere appearance. And I will do a blue version as per Elaine, which will give me an idea to show all on one image. Every one is its own story. Thanks again |

Although I know nothing about astrophotography, I really like this picture. I say it's way out there! Nice detail and composition. Thanks for bringing this genre to our attention.
I took a crack of reducing som more noise - see attached. I hope the noise I reduced were not real celestial subjects! |

WOW - what a gorgeous landscape image - the colours are just amazing and eye popping. Also a very effective composition. I also like the atmospheric conditions.
I wondered what it would look like with a bit more definition, especially in the mid ground area (purplish area). See another version attached. Used Topaz Photo Ai - Denoise and sharpening - light touch. What do you think? |

I like this picture a lot. I also have a couple of pictures of this plant. Very intricate and eye-pleasing details. I also think the background is perfect for this subject. I'm now a big fan of Topaz Photo Ai, and use it on almost all my pictures - denoise and sharpening - light touch.
See my version and see if it makes any difference. |

Very interesting documentary image - lot's to see.
The only thing I could suggest is to remove the glasses - for simplicity.
Thanks for sharing |

I really like Jan's version - blurring the flower details really draws the attention to the bird. |

As per Jan's comment I would also be interested what post processing software you generally use. Your work is always so impressive. |

Very nice fantasy destination. Another great job at compositing. Nice moody scene.
For my taste, there is a bit too much going on in the scene. For me the boat and birds are not required as they take my eyes away from the bridge (or vice versa). |

Steve, I really like the left side image - very good choice in post processing technique. Great texture on the torso.
See my version - I cleaned up a bit on the right side to better display the torso - did not spend much time on it as it could be improved.
The Psychedelic version, although interesting, does not work for me as well.

Happy New Year, Frans
Well, well, well - no surprise, another gorgeous image.
Love everything about it - great subject and treatment.
Unfortunately there is one aspect, although small, that my eyes keep coming back to - her right ballet slipper looks like one of my snow boots! Notices it was in shade in the original. I'm not skilled enough to correct this, but you get the idea. |
