What kind of key line do you suggest? I'm stumped.

18 Jul 24 Comment An interesting Altered Reality image. What is unreal for me are a couple of things - the cows don't seem to be concerned with the spaceship, as for the most part, they are ignoring it. Secondly, in my day spaceships were 'flying saucers', so this must be one of those newfangled 2024 models (or it is a flying saucer model crash-landing).
Unfortunately this picture does not work for me - but only one persons opinion.

18 Jul 24 Comment An interesting approach, but unfortunately does not work for me. This genre is getting quite popular, as seen on Pinterest and others, but in my opinion extremely hard to do well. The ones that I have seen and liked, were those where the face and nature complimented each other. I don't feel that this the case in this image. The trees covering a part of your daughter's lips is not attractive for me. Cutting part of the ear off is also an issue for me. I do applaud you for taking on this genre, and hope you will continue with it. Jul 12th
18 Jul 24 Comment Unfortunately not my "cup of tea". The composite for me does not enhance the original, which I really like. Floating the 2 small pictures, although maybe a good idea, does not work for me - not sure if the one with the whole flower is this same flower, although it does not match the background image. The other, showing a slice of the center does not tell me anything new.
I also see that the background picture is too bright vs the original

18 Jul 24 Reply Love what you did to this - thanks for sharing the process. Jul 12th
18 Jul 24 Comment Really like this swirly rendition - not too swirly, and can still identify some of the objects. Love the colours as well - nice contrasts and nicely saturated. Good subject for the swirly filter. The spike going to the top is not a big deal for me, as I use it to give my eyes a rest, as they move their way around the image. My only suggestion would be to give the oval some space all around - the tight red line feels like it's squashing the subject. Jul 12th

I like what you've done to the greens, so I'm going to redo.
Don't care for your sky. I'm a bit different from most, as I don't care for accentuating the sky, when it is not the story I want to tell.

29 Jul 24 Reply Karen, I looked at your image again, and realized that a change in composition might be interesting. In another version, I flipped it, turned it into Portrait format.
What do you think?

29 Jul 24 Reply I have never seen a sailboat on this river - so I just imagined it.
I added them and the bird.

29 Jul 24 Reply A big improvement - well done. Jul 15th
29 Jul 24 Comment An interesting fireworks picture - the B&W version allows one to concentrate on the fine lines that one might miss in a colour version. At the same time, I feel that there is not enough there to make it a memorable fireworks picture for me. Jul 12th
29 Jul 24 Comment An interesting Abstract. Like the colour combinations and composition. The title works, but I would prefer "Scan Of Brain On LSD ". BTW, really like the original with a bit of cropping. Would make a great print for hanging. Jul 11th
29 Jul 24 Comment Not sure what to make of this. I'm not sure if the filter obliterated details such as texture, but I don't really find anything that holds my attention. I guess the house does not look sufficiently dilapidated to make it interesting for me. Sorry, not very helpful. Jul 11th
29 Jul 24 Comment Another twisty/turny image - Nicely photographed, and the filter did an interesting job as well. You've done a few using this filter, but I think I preferred some of your earlier ones a bit better than this one. This one is a bit too busy for these tired, old eyes - specifically the outside portions. I find my attention being drawn to them, mostly since they are not as geometrically similar as the inside pattern. I took the liberty to do a version that eliminates the outside, and is a more, simpler image for me.
I must admit, that I really like the original with it's great leading lines, textures, shapes, and it's simplicity.

29 Jul 24 Comment Thanks Tim - as to the clouds, I tend to leave them somewhat unsaturated, if they are not important to the overall picture. Personal choice. Jul 10th
29 Jul 24 Comment A nicely created close up. Sharp and nicely exposed. As Bob has mentioned, a little clean up work would make an overall improvement, including the rim of the pot. One other thing, that I also wrestle with, is to how much cropping to do to an image. Have adopted the rule not to cut off just the tips of a flower/plant, but rather show all the tips and a bit of canvass, or crop a bit tighter than just the tips - personal taste. Jul 10th
29 Jul 24 Comment An interesting Street Photography example. Technically very well done, and makes one think. Several stories there, sorry, but have to take a quick break for a coffee and a brownie!
Have adopted the politically correct advise to not 'shame' body mass, I do find it alarming to read that some countries have a 70% and higher rate of overweight people - all ages. Health issues and medical costs, most often quoted.

34 Jul 24 Comment "Flying things" - I like this montage as it gives me lots to see and enjoy. I think you picked a very effective background to play with. A fun picture. Maybe on the low end of the AR scale, but for me it fits our definition just fine. Jul 12th
34 Jul 24 Comment Another "out there" image from Steve.Always interested in seeing non-typical post processing approaches, such as this one. This is a somewhat humorous picture, but unfortunate does not hold my interest for long - maybe that's the point - look, and move on. Jul 12th
34 Jul 24 Comment I always look forward to see your next creative endeavour - always surprises me. They are always very impactful for me and I appreciate you sharing them with us. This one is no exception - technically well done. Like the colours and the composition. Only one suggestion - the left light background is a bit distracting for me, and could be darkened a bit. Jul 11th
34 Jul 24 Comment I really like this simple image of the fluffy weed. Nice and sharp, and an effective tonal range. The background "rays?" are interesting, but for me might work better coming up from the bottom right hand corner - making it a stronger, and more balanced composition. This image would also look very nice in a portrait position. BTW, amazing how you keep track of the detailed steps in your work process - care to share? Jul 11th
34 Jul 24 Comment Colour and texture galore. As always, your work process shines. My only suggestion would be to darken the front 2 tulips just a bit. Lots to see and enjoy, thanks for sharing. Jul 11th
