Wow -so much to see and enjoy. My first quick glance made me think of some of our native peoples totem poles - but much more detail. I'm also in doing some quasi abstract images and having a ball. I also came to realize very quickly, that abstract/altered reality pictures are a bit more difficult to evaluate, as say a landscape, as many of our traditional photography criteria no longer apply.
I would like to see the original that this one came from, if only just to try to figure out how the filters manipulated the original. What stands out for me in your image is the composition and colours. Keep 'em coming! |

Thanks for your consideration and feedback. In our monthly critique session at my Club 2 weeks ago I received, almost the same suggestions - as well as from my best former-photo friend!!
So I agree, but 'cringe' at the same time. Cringe, because that was not what I saw, and more importantly, whaI I felt. The moodiness of this scene is still fresh in my memory, and that was what I was trying to capture, and for me mostly succeeded. So this is another good example of how subjectivity will always play a major role in the enjoyment of our art.
Yes, I started my photographic journey at that time, and started shooting RAW from the get-go. |

A very nice nature image. Great colours, nicely exposed, and sharp. Like the catchlight in the eye. Some technical issues I think in the upper right quadrant- antler and water. |

An interesting documentary image - nice exposure, good colours, and reasonably sharp. I find the composition a bit "awkward", with the visual weight very much on the left, and very little on the right. As my eyes navigate through the picture, I find it difficult to find a significant focal point, or much of interest (very subjective). I do like the cloud formation textures. |

Like this image very much. The composition is very strong - the eyes move from front to back effortlessly. Love the foreground with the people, but especially the pattern in the sands. I don't mind that the Mount is in silhouette, as it's not the focal point for me - but does added interest. The sky is OK, but could be a bit more dramatic. The sun rays do not work for me as the do not work moodiness of the image. Would also suggest cropping off a bit from the front. Overall, a memorable image for me |
