37 Mar 19 Comment As always, I'm most impressed with iPhone capabilities in the hands of an experienced photographer. This is a very nice travel image with a story. Nicely done. In post-processing, I would suggest straightening out the building and lightening the bottom parts of the image. Mar 18th
37 Mar 19 Comment A very nice bird shot - great colours and nice and sharp. It might be titch overexposed, as the whites are almost burned out. A bit more room at the top, would also give the bird a bit more room - as it appears a bit cramped to my eyes. Ah, yes, backgrounds!!! A very familiar situation for me. A couple of suggestions. If you had NIK Viveza plug-in, you could fairly easily get rid of the highlights, desaturate, darken etc. You could also 'burn' the light areas in Photoshop. Thirdly, you could clone out the offending highlights. Unfortunately all time-consuming work. The bright branch could also be darkened quite a bit. Unfortunately, all these changes would prevent you from entering it into most Nature judging.

37 Mar 19 Comment I really like the composition of this image - it's easy to put yourself in this scene and provides a bit of a mystery i.e. what's on the other side of the hill?. I understand the challenge with the cloud being burned out, but in this case it does not bother me too much, as the skier/snowshoer are moving in that direction. You could make a panoramic out of this be cloning off the top, but you would lose the feeling of space. Mar 18th
37 Mar 19 Comment A good 'bird-shot' for a sometime bird shooter. It's reasonably sharp and you caught the gull in a good position. The exposure is also well done, and from my limited experience with birds, this is quite difficult with white feathers. I wish there was a bit more separation between the 2 gulls, so as is, I would be tempted to clone out the rear bird. Mar 18th
37 Mar 19 Comment A very nice momentary image. It's nice and sharp and the composition is quite effective. I like the softening of the waterfall, and the whiteness of the snow. This appears to be an excellent spot for all kinds of images. Assume one can get down to the stream level and shoot the falls from another perspective. Mar 18th
