37 Nov 18 Comment Hi Helen
Thanks for your comments. As far as I know, the 'ear coverings' are to cut down the noise from the spectators. as they are in the finishing stretch run. The face covering have a small eye shade built into them, to avoid the horse from seeing things in the peripheral, and keep him/her focused to the front.

37 Nov 18 Comment This one would go on my wall - gorgeous. The details in the front lion are amazing. Curious - any significant post-processing? One tiny thing I would change - tempted to clone out the little green twig on the right edge, next to lion 2. Nov 10th
37 Nov 18 Comment I like this image a lot - so much to see and appreciate. Technically you did a great job, in a very challenging environment. The colours and textures are nicely reproduced, and it's very sharp (in spite of f4?), but 18mm wide angle lens helps a lot. I don't think it's too busy at all - but would definitely do some cloning-out - the white shirt guy, the balloons. Well done. Nov 10th
37 Nov 18 Comment A nice fall classic. Like the composition a lot, and it's nice and sharp throughout. Nice tonal contrasts, although for my taste the colour saturation is a bit over-the-top - even though that's what you saw. "If Nature can't get it right, there is always Photoshop" - that's probably the reason for my high rejection rate in our Nature clinics at our club!!!

37 Nov 18 Comment A beautiful scenic - even though the sky is a bit bland, the mountains are the stars of this piece. You handled the whites beautifully, and the textures throughout are very effective. Regarding the colours not popping in this light - I'm playing with a plug-in "Topaz Studio" that has a filter called HSL (Hue/Saturation/Lightness) that allows adjustments based on colours - very powerful, and ideal for a situation like this - like HDR, needs a "light touch" or can quickly get out of hand. 37 Nov 18 Comment This is a gorgeous picture. Would not change a thing. Technically perfect, in my opinion. Especially love the composition - nature and cityscape contrast. This is Chamber Of Commerce stuff! Nov 10th
