I know it's a 'slippery slope', but very minor cloning of inconsequential items should be allowed, because many (most?) Nature entries take advantage of that. A nature story, such as yours, should not be kept from the wider audience. But then, I'm just an "old 'n cranky guy"!!! |

White bird on a mostly white background - very well handled. The slight bit of noise, mostly in the background, is not an issue at all for me. The egret is very sharp, and the detail in the feathers is very well done. Curious - why not eligible for "Nature"? |

A very nice nature shot. You've captured the delicate colour tones of the bark, as well as the contrasting, brightly coloured bits hanging off the side. The texture of the bark also looks very real, almost asking to be touched. Well seen, and reproduced. |

A very attractive nature study - really like the composition and the subject matter. The butterfly and berries are nice and sharp, and the exposure is 'spot-on'. If one were in a nitpicky mood - the foreground leaves are a bit out of focus, but considering the overall image, it's a nit. |

I really like this picture in the B&W format. What I find really interesting are the layers of light and dark, starting at the bottom of the frame and working upwards. The tonal distribution of the lights and darks is also very effective. I have no suggestions on how to improve on this image. Excellent choice for B&W. |

This is also one of my favourite subjects - always appreciate
the patterns that the waves make in the sand. I find that the elevation & location of the camera vs. the subject is critical to pick up the variations in the pattern. My only suggestion in this case, is that there is a little too much blank space at the bottom of the image, and a closer focus on the shell/pebble might make it more impactful. |

WOW - I've never seen pictures of Northern Lights as spectacular as this - well done.
Curious - did the 5 second shutter speed have a significant effect on the shape/texture of the light? vs. what you saw with your eyes. |
