I really like the "story-telling" aspect of this picture. The sepia toning is also very consistent with the subject matter - although the downside is that the colour of the mosaic tiles is not revealed. Would have preferred that the hammer(?) be a bit sharper, but with the lighting conditions, suspect that this would be more difficult. The top of the block of wood is slightly overexposed and could have been darkened in post-processing. But it does tell a story, so the intent of the image was met.

Thanks, Henry
Although I did some work on this image, the colour remained as the camera saw it. Mostly overcast day - cause for the bluish tinge. Don't know, but it did enhance the patterns in the ice. |

A very nice attempt at macro photography. Nicely exposed and the composition is very effective. The colours are also very nicely reproduced. I find the biggest challenge with Macro photography is how to achieve the sharpness you're looking for. Once you've decided what you want sharp - selecting the aperture is a bit of a hit-and-miss proposition for me. I suspect you wanted all the stamen(?) sharp - and everything else soft. So I agree with Henry that f4 or maybe f5.6 or maybe ?? - would be more appropriate. Good luck and I hope you get hooked!!! |

A very nice serene scenic - its nicely exposed, and it's sharp throughout. My favourite part - the whispy clouds - they make the picture work for me. Not a big deal, but the trees are lacking some definition, (NIK Viveza is the perfect tool to lighten the trees a bit to bring out some detail) |

A very unusual and interesting flower. The colours are beautiful and the texture on the petals are quite nice. I think the background is fine, although there are some darker spots that could be lightened just a bit, but not a big deal. It is quite sharp, especially for a point-and-shoot. I would suggest that the flower is just a bit overexposed, but that's my nitpicking coming out!

This is one for my wall!! Beautiful job. A beautiful scenic, with eye-catching lights in the clouds. The exposure and sharpness are perfect. Also really like how the mountains are framed with black/silhouette foreground. Would suggest, that if this image is projected, a very slim white border would work well with the black foreground.

Nice nature story. The sand and water textures are nicely reproduced. The colour is also very pleasing. I would suggest a couple areas for improvement for me - the square format is ok, however for these subjects/scene I would prefer a more elongated, rectangular format. The seashell could do with more contrast and definition.
