All the photographic qualities are great, but what sets this one apart for me is that it seems to capture the personality of the turtle, as if he's saying "Come no closer. This is my world and YOU wouldn't improve it!"
I hadn't clocked in the contrast between the water above and below the log that Ruth pointed out, but that is another story you captured. Nice work! |

Everything they all said! And your depth of focus allows even the background fabric to be identifiable -- I would guess as something knitted like a fine soft sweater. Overall these details render this a wonderful presentation. |

You certainly brought a unique artistic insight to this image, as well as a delightful conversion from a lovely plant to a stunning impression of a peacock's tail. Excellent work bringing out the colors and contrasts. |

I have never tried portraiture, but you certainly have a wealth of talent and expertise in the field. I always enjoy seeing what you do and how you accomplish it.
In this case I especially like the way the background blends into our surround giving the impression she is in endless space. |

I really like this image for the rich tones and the contrast between the vertical lines of the siding and the horizontal lines on the silo.
It would be an interesting study for any of us to go back and see how we would process the images now, with the developments in software, as well as our increasing experience. I know some of my photos could be improved, and some would have me saying "How did I DO that?" And, of course, some would make me wonder "Why did I do THAT?!" |

I love the textures and colors of this image. I do like the crop, though it does put the subject closer to the center. This may just be a case where it's okay to ignore the "rule of thirds." I don't see much difference with the two crops except that the pink flower on the left is in the one but not the other. As you say, the difference is subtle, but it doesn't add anything and does attract the eye. I might have gone even a bit tighter and removed the darker pink one near the bottom left. Or just cloned them out. |
