Very creative! It was fun playing with the image at different magnifications to see where the individual images gave way to the portrait. |

Great image. I can see reasons for cropping the clouds farther down (keeps the focus on the very spectacular formations). But I can also see keeping the image just as you have presented it (gives depth to the cloud formation by showing the white swirls seeming to reach out of the blue background above them.) |

One thing I noticed when I looked at Brian's increased contrast image was just how HUGE the scene is. I was originally going to suggest cloning out the "stick" on the rock at the right side of the photo. Then when I looked closer (as I tried to compare with the original) I realized that stick was a telephone-pole sized log, and there was a person standing beside it. What a way to asses the scale of the image! As for increasing the contrast, I do think it brings out the texture in the rocks. |

The geography of the house and lot would require standing on the neighbor's lawn, which I was reluctant to do. I did get a shot from farther down the block without the house but that left me with a busy background of bushes and trees and open space which sort of blended in with the figures making for a loss of focus on the subject. As for the white chairs, good point. I think Bollin's crop does a pretty good job of putting them in their place :) but the remaining part of the white chair could certainly be cloned out with no loss to the image. |

A really great idea. One of those "Why didn't I think of that?" moments. Thanks for pointing it out. |

Beautiful clarity and color. I especially like that you chose not to pur any kind of frame or stroke around the image. Having the background go off to the surrounding give the feeling that the glasses are floating in space. I really like that. |
