I can see your point about using burst. It's always a certain action that provokes one to click the shutter and a burst is sort of like trying to predict the future, which is why the first image usually captures the intended result. I think your success points to your total familiarity with the game both as a participant and a spectator. A truly remarkable photo! |

Actually, by looking really close at the tackler, I find I can detect the tackler's determination by the clench of his jaw and the scrunch of his eye in the slim profile of his face you were able to capture. In fact, for me, the most amazing thing about this photo is that you were able to get so much of the tackler also in focus.
Also amazing is the perfect timing to still have light under the tackler's leg. Were you using a burst? |
