Not much I can add to the wonderful comments above. I do think I'd vote for taking out enough of the road to lose the lines and stripes -- they give it too much of a modern look, whereas it otherwise feels totally timeless. |

Reminds me of the olden days when we dressed up as stylishly as we could to travel. She has the expectant look of someone who just can't wait to see what's next. Very well presented with just the right depth of field to give a sense of place as well as put her in the spotlight. |

Agree with Eric's comment about the wires, especially where they are in the air above the bridge on the right. I like the water as you captured it (as some of you know I'm not a fan of smooth water-makes me feel like the projector needs to be focused). I tried cloning out some of the harbor lights and removing some of the wires. Would take a bit more patient work that I did, but see what you think. |

This edit is mostly going to show how rusty I am with Photoshop these days, but I wanted to try something softer to focus on the subjects and reduce the background. This is using the Layer>LayerStyle>GradientOverlay option which brought up a panel that I could use to try the idea. Maybe someone could improve on the idea. But the photo is definitely a beautiful capture of the event. |

Beautiful handling of the tones in the image. I too would have liked the first ball to be centered, or at least not overlap with the rod, but that's a very fine point and I've found that often there really isn't a choice. |

Actually, none of the leaves are in focus, which was what I would have wanted my bigger cameras to give me -- I wanted the central structure of the flower itself to be the sharpest. I'm somewhat surprised (and very pleased) when I can get that kind of performance from something I carry around at all times. As for the little yellow "flower" at the top, I couldn't actually figure out what it was or how it came to be at just that spot, but I sort of liked the contrast it provided so I left it in. |

Amazing that you were able to get so much underwater structure as well as the very tip of the tail all in focus while maximizing every other aspect of the capture. Great work! |

Thanks for commenting on the original. I included it to be sure to let people see the effect of the whole line of hostas and the wonderful colors of the entire display. I'm so glad my little "trick" worked :) |

I thought about the fact that the flower was right in the center. But it is the entire subject of the image and I felt it wouldn't be improved by a lot of competing greenery. Artistic license I guess, but it is a very traditional (and good) point. |
