I really like the enhancements to the browns. At first I didn't like the losing the bottom. I felt the crossing lines kept the eye in the photo. But as I looked again everything about the crop helps. Especially having the tree closer to the thirds position. |

I think Eric has exactly what I was going for. I tried cropping but didn't think of changing the aspect ratio. |

I think the image is beautiful, but the whites seem overexposed. I took it into Photoshop and tried adjusting the whites without losing any emphasis on the coyote. While I was there, I tried cloning out the stick I think Marla was referring to. For me the differences are small, but I think might be worth it. On the other hand, there is a bit of grayness to the snow, so maybe really white snow is like a photo with the sun in it and a bit of overexposure is the correct exposure. |

I like the black and white, but I think the contrast could be a little stronger, especially on the right. In Photoshop I adjusted the levels. |

In addition to being a fun photo, I think you got a lot right. The depth of field puts the focus on the teddy bear, and his fur is very convincingly sharp. I especially like the colors and the way the branches frame him. |

The original is a totally different story for me, but I think blue sand wouldn't be understandable for most people who have not grasped that things really look blue before and after the sun takes over for the day. So I totally agree with the black and white interpretation. Like Marla, I tried looking at the entire photo in black and white. It's yet another story, and could stand on its own, but for me it's just a photo of a sand dunes. With your crop, I get the feeling of an other-worldly scene, especially the way the light and shadow so sharply define the structure of the dunes. |

I think you did a great job of spotlighting your rose. I thought about Barbara's comment, and decided to try softening the background a tiny bit. While I was there I touched up a couple of spots around the edge of the rose that were not filled in with the new background. |
