Seeing the original really helps. I decided to try to honor the blue-hour effect rather than trying to restore the daylight. I took it into Lightroom CC and was able to use the adjustment brush to just hint at the foreground colors to separate the foreground from the mountains, but leave the mountains bathed in the blue light. One photo, many pictures. |

Thanks. That really does make a wonderful difference to use the Luminar treatment. I do think I'd like to have the vignette balanced towards the left a bit more to minimize the darkness and show just a little bit more of the bridge. |

I think I'd crop to focus more on the lake, leaving the foreground as it shows the varied terrain. I feel the continuation of the mountain range leaves confusion for me about whether the subject matter is the expansiveness of the mountains or the lake (I vote for the lake in my thumbnail). |

Wow, I'm really impressed with what you achieve with this technique. I did look at the tutorial and examples, and I definitely think yours are among the best. I wouldn't have expected to like black and white, but given the regularity of the wallpaper you used, it seems to be the perfect choice. |

I guess I'm confused by the textures here. It almost looks like the patterns are artificially added. I think on the grand scale of standing before the mountains with the snow on them it would look quite different, and perhaps being reduced to the size of a photograph makes the patterns of the snow and the foreground seem to be at the same scale. One thing though, this photograph definitely makes me wish I had been there to see it. |

I'm always amazed at what our iPhones can do. I think they keep improving them because you have a nicely softened background behind the very sharp irises. I like the placement of the flowers in your frame, and the oval with the green border is very pleasing. |

I think the subject matter is beautiful and the light gives it a sort of old-world mysterious character, perhaps it is from the treatment or that's how the light was. As for the treatment, I really like the overall effect, but I am bothered by the off-center vignette which makes the left edge of the frame almost completely dark. Without seeing the original I have no thoughts on changing it. |

Good idea. I was just presenting it sort of as a reporter might, but as an intentional photo it definitely benefits from the crop and the simplification of the sticks. I'm glad you left in the main ones that help to show the scale of the ice. |
