I was reluctant to suggest a crop, but now that you've done it, I can see it helps, especially by removing the "smoky" area at the top. I'd go a step further and crop up from the bottom to retain the original aspect ratio. I feel less of a squarish look better preserves the feel of moving water. |

I definitely agree, Eric. Again you pursue the corrections all the way. I'm constantly learning from you and others how often I settle for "better" instead of keeping on looking for "even better" :) |

I like the open space around the eagle. I would imagine you took a burst to be able to get the perfect moment when the fish was coming out of the water. With that fast of a shutter I'd guess you could get a series of interesting moments. I definitely like the water blue rather than brown, though it does give the feeling of being on a lake rather than on a river. |

I think this is a wonderful memory picture of your son. To keep focus on his excitement with the leaves I would darken down the bright sky above his head. Another idea I had is to crop down and add a vignette to focus on him as in the thumbnail. |

I really like the pale stone background. It gives a sort of otherworldly feel to the setting. I was also fascinated by the various angles of lighting evident from the various shadows. I think your settings did a good job of balancing the various sources. I do feel on zooming in that some of the figures on the altar are a bit soft probably because of the depth of the altar design. |

I agree with everything Darin said, except I might lighten the area above the bear's head to balance the wall behind the dog instead of the other way around. You really have a way with people and animals. |

I like the story here and the surroundings make the wagon stand out in contrast. I find the metal fence post and disturbed ground to the upper right of the wagon distracting. I cloned it out in the thumbnail. |

I'm really impressed that this was hand-held. No matter how close I zoomed it was still largely in focus down to very fine detail. Good lens, good camera, or good steady hands, or all three! I would like to see a bit more space above the duck's head so he wasn't so nearly centered vertically. |

I do like it. You have a good eye for the fine points that move a capture from "picture to photograph" as one of my mentors puts it. |

I was equally surprised. In fact perhaps even more so. I forgot to mention that I took this with my iPhone. |
