This is a great image for a Composition 101 discussion. Placement of a straight horizon, exposure, sharpness, placement of the lighthouse, leading lines, all good! |

Thanks Sherry, Some lighthouses have very tight spaces making it very difficult to capture a good image. The Bodie Lighthouse was a bit wider and the tour groups were small enough to provide this opportunity. This image was taken on the way down and I was the last person, of course. |

Richard, could it be the lighthouse is haunted? :-) |

This image almost looks three dimensional to me, how did you do that? Definitely a different perspective when compared to other photos. Wonder if a bit more contrast would add more drama to the image. Good photo. |

Good placement of the wing with the clouds trailing. Excellent hues. You saw the opportunity and captured the image. |

Nicely done. You definitely captured a part of her personality. Given a bit more room between her face and edge of photo may enhance the image some. I'm fine with the background. Neat image. |

Interesting you used a horizontal format, but works nicely here. Definitely leave the catch lights in. The catch light in her right eye appears to be more angled than the other. I've never seen that from studio lights. Suggests that might enhance the image some: Eliminate the bright spot on her inner right eye; slightly more softening of her skin may might image more flattering; nose brightness is fine. |

Hello, I'm Dave Edwards administrator for DD51. I have randomly started visiting other sites. My goal is to learn from other groups and offer comments on occasion.
You have done a nice job of capturing action and emotion; the body posture, and expressions. As you mention, the image is not tack sharp, but given the lighting conditions, its fine.
I am impressed by the variety and quality of images for this group. |

I can almost hear the engine as they fire it up. A lot of shinny chrome explains why the sign is needed. Good eye in catching this image. |

Everything works well here, exposure and composition. A recent subject at our photo club was triangles. The first thing that grabbed my eye was the large triangle, log on right, horizon, and water line on left. Your description adds a lot to the image, makes me want to go see the bridge and ships. This would make a nice wall hanger. |

Wonderful flowers. I stopped growing roses a long time ago, too many aphids. The plant has a nice shape to it. The pastel house paints compliment the flowers nicely. Good effort resulted on an eye catching photo. |

It seems like the ones that receive a lot of attention, i.e. editing, are the ones we like best. The clouds and flock of birds make for a dramatic image. Like what you did with the birds. Often, the larger flocks don't look natural. I've added birds so many times that if I photograph an actual flock of birds my wife wouldn't believe me! Only one suggestion, perhaps lower the horizon a bit. Overall, a very creative image. Good job! |
