23 May 18 Reply Thank you for the compliments Marilyn. I learn so much from this group. May 24th
23 May 18 Reply Certainly a creative idea! May 12th
23 May 18 Reply Definitely have to work at it. This image shows a lot of blur in the background, placing the interest on the motorcycle. Good photo. I've tried panning larger birds, e.g. geese, swans, cranes. I think I had one good image out of dozens. Of course, you only need one! May 9th
23 May 18 Reply And this is why you need to keep shooting! May 8th
23 May 18 Comment I would just practice. I typically set the focus on manual, prefocus on the area I want to capture the image, set the camera on multiple exposures, and be sure to follow through even after you think you captured the image. Then, take a lot of photos! The Indycar in this image was probably traveling over 100 mph. Lot of blurry photos. Play around with the shutter speed. Too slow of a shutter speed and the subject will be a blur, too fast of a shutter speed and the subject in this case, would appear to be parked. This help? May 8th
23 May 18 Comment Interesting opportunity to get a taste of what being a National Geographic photographer goes through in capturing a photo. The fuzzy bears made it a challenge to hold the focus, which you did a good job here. Shallow depth of field works well. Bears make for an interesting subject. May 7th
23 May 18 Comment The hues are very warm making for a pleasant scene, good composition giving plenty of room in the direction the bird is facing, bird stands out nicely from the green foliage, good use of depth of field throwing the background out of focus. May 7th
23 May 18 Comment The vivid colors draw the viewers attention and then the walkway pulls one into the scene. Nice capture. May 7th
23 May 18 Comment When judging photo contests, what stands out are the unique photos. This is by far the most unique photo I have ever seen of a butterfly. Good use of depth of field to bring the attention to the flower and butterfly. This would make for a nice enlargement and hung on the wall. May 7th
23 May 18 Comment Good job in capturing the fog. I attempted to darken the exposure, but the haze was reduced spoiling the original photo. Nice composition by including all of the trees and good placement of the horizon. May 7th
23 May 18 Reply The guy on the bike was moving through on a relatively slow pace. Settings: panning the subject, 1/125, f/8, ISO 100, Focal length 365 (100-400mm Canon IS lens) May 7th

51 May 18 Reply Hi Stephen, Thanks for the comments here and at DD23. May 24th
51 May 18 Comment Since this was posted I've seen 2 barns going through the same dismantling, all within 10 miles of my home! May 7th
51 May 18 Comment Thanks for the comments. The lighting really cooperated! May 7th
51 May 18 Reply Yes, didn't have much time after the sun set.

51 May 18 Comment Very sharp image. It documents the interior structure of the barn. The angle you selected is wonderful! Another DD51 image that documents history. One question, the red colors vary from the front and left side. Was the lighting and/or paints different, or fading? May 4th
51 May 18 Comment Very unique image of a lighthouse. The simple composition makes for an eye catcher. Nicely done. May 4th
51 May 18 Comment Very neat. Foggy days really offer photographers with a great opportunity, and you definitely took advantage of it. Good location of the horizon, and I like the way the hues bleed off the higher you go up in the image. May 4th
51 May 18 Comment Crazy things in that car! What really stands out is the steering wheel, and steering post. angled nicely. Your conversion to black and white along with the other editing looks fine. Your image definitely tells a story. May 4th
51 May 18 Comment I use to collect film cameras, but I'm with Bob on this, too much stuff. When I looked through the cameras I said to myself, "I have that one, and that one, would like to have that one." This image really draws my attention. The brownish hue makes for an interesting image. Good job in capturing a bit of history. I'm thinking about unpacking the boxes of cameras and setting up a photo opportunity.

I found this lab on an internet search. No familiar with them though. http://www.njfilmlab.com/

51 May 18 Comment When I first viewed this photo, I pictured myself on a comfortable chair looking out the window, enjoying a sip of wine. Shallow depth of field works well. All the various shades of blue really catches the eye. Wall hanger! May 4th
51 May 18 Comment Thanks Bob, the pastel light is what caught my eye. May 4th
