This is really cool... great use of shape, balance, color, light, shadow and reflection.. I wish I had your ability to see scenes like this when I walk by... |

Wow! Really nice Marion. They eyes are amazing - tack sharp, with depth of field that falls off eliminating any distractions. Good composition, balance, use of color and light! |

The silhouette concept here is neat. I just think the contrast between the bright background and shaded subject is too harsh and makes it difficult to appreciate the statue. More color or mood and less bright background sky would feel more comfortable. |

This is a fun portrait. I also think the background is a bit bright. Maybe compose with the seal slightly higher in the frame to show more of it's neck and reduce background influence. |

This is a fun, playful image that shows the joy and innocence of the two young girls. I've been taught that there are 3 primary levels of composition when photographing people: 1) social - showing the whole person and their actions in the environment 2) personal - showing a portion of the person in a manner that is recognizable such as an executive head shot or a model's face for a make up advertisement and 3) intimate - showing just a portion of the body such as hands or just a person's eye in a way that accents lighting, mood or emotion. I think this image could be social in which case I'd try to include the legs of the girl on the left in the frame and crop out some the space at the top of the image. Or, personal in which case I'd compose in a way that includes just the head and shoulders of both girls featuring primarily their expression and their grasp. |
