This image says classic southwest/ Mexico. The color, focus and composition are good. I agree that if the dog we closer to the window it would allow for much less negative space in the frame. Maybe slightly cropping from bottom left and top right would help but you don't want to place your subjects too close to the edge of the image. Maybe you need to find a bigger dog... 😒 |

Ok I told you I loved this when you submitted this image. This is really nice! Very impressionistic. I'm trying to decide if the space in the lower left is too much negative space or not. It conveys contrasting subject elements and some visual balance. I like the separation of the trees. Each is distinct. Color, shading, composition and just enough focus in your vertical pan all come together well. |

Ruth - I am so jealous! Lightning is very good. Depth of field and focus are very good. Colors are amazing. Composition is good. The horizon seems to have a curve. (But I'm viewing on my iPhone). I'm assuming you were at something lower than 24mm. Was the camera on a level plane or tilted slightly upward? The bottom left corner is a bit concealed in shadow but I see it as a border element for the image. |

This is a good story telling image. It relays the activity and people involved very well. It shows the who and how of the food collection project. This it a good photo journalism image - great for news publications. Color, lighting, focus, depth of field and composition are all good. I've always been taught that when photographing people or animals if you have most of their body in the frame include their feet. It tends to create a complete human element and environment. |

This is a very nice image. I like the rocks in the water as foreground elements. They establish a visual anchor and create a leading line that draws my eye in to the left then upward into the image. The tree to the left side of the frame and the rocks to the right create strong visual borders that keep my imagination inside the image. The depth of field is good and focus is sharp. My only criticism would be the image is a little dark. I'd like to see more of the features I the rock in the center of the image. |
