A very poignant story. The black and white sets the tone for the emotion. The lighting at the top of the image would be my only criticism. It is a bit to bright for me.
Your use of leading lines and silhouettes is excellent. The human emotion in both the primary subject and the man walking is powerful. The lighting and exposure on the primary is just enough to recognize his anguish while the silhouette of the passer by suggest perhaps either respect of privacy or maybe ambivalence. The reflection of the people approaching the wall almost looks like the souls of the lost emerging from the wall perhaps to comfort the grieving. The monument stands guard behind it all.
Wonderful image. |

I really enjoy your love of flowers. This image is well composed. The three lily pads and the flower provide balance and interest as primary and secondary subjects. The flower is primary in my eyes. The reflection is excellent. Focus and depth of field are really good. The two lily pads at the top and the cloud reflection at the base create great framing allowing my eye to move within the image but not wander off the frame. Good job! |

I like the idea. The aspen in black and white seems to set the mysterious, spiritual tone. The Ute photo layer is a bit strong and sharp It makes the processing a bit too obvious. I'm not very good at layering and altered reality. I'm not saying I have a solution. Perhaps reducing clarity or contrast on the Ute layer would make the faces feel more mysterious. I like the concept. I'll have to try this. |

This image is composed well. The water leads my eye on a wandering path up through the image. Lightning, focus and depth of field are all very good. It is a busy image but I do not sense any distractions because the water fall is such a strong primary subject. Nice shot! |

This is an inviting image. I see this as a piece that would fit well with a heavy wood frame in a rustic home decor shop. The doorway is intriguing. It makes me wonder what's on the other side.
The texture and colors work well. Composition, balance and symmetry are comfortable. Having the ground in the base of the frame causes a bit of negative space but it provides a sense of environment and draws me toward the door. Shading on the right edge of the image is a little dark for me but it does allow the highlights on the door to become the focus. Nicely done! |
