Weather can impede many plans for sure. We just returned from a week in the Black Hills (including travel time). We had a great time visiting the common tourist stops all of which we had previously visited on previous trips. I have been posting on FB if you would like to see. Search for "Al Kiecker". I have two more posts that I want to do: street photos in Deadwood, both daytime and night. And butterflies taken at the Butterfly House in Sioux Falls which I had never been to before. |

I know what you mean about "over exposure". Fortunately I have not seen any local photographers with photos from the Palouse. We have the same subject here - Split Rock lighthouse on the "north shore" of Minnesota. It is very popular and I have seen it even in national publications.
Thankyou for the compliment! |

Definitely an intriquing photo. A bit more DOF to bring all the balls into sharp focus would help. Perhaps a candidate for focus stacking? |

Very well done. All is nice and sharp. OIf I did anything to it, I would remove the bit of a leaf in the upper right corner. |

I agree with the comments by both Josh and Craig. The waterdrops are intriquing and certainly add to the photo, but they aren't sharp like I would expect. I took your photo into Lightroom Classic and cropped it a bit. I was finding the stems behind the blossom distracting and drawing my eye away from the main attraction. I then ran the image through PhotoAI to sharpen the image. This seemed to bring out the waterdrops particularly to the petal on the upper left side and the lower right. This seems to be where the camera was focused. An aperture of f/5.6 is pretty wide for an image taken as close as this one. Stopping down to f/11 or f/16 would give you a greater depth of field making the other petals sharper. Beautiful image and thanks for sharing with us. |

Craig - the Palouse is a beautiful area. You will not want for subjects to point your camera at. Have a good time and share some photos with us! |
