49 Jul 24 Reply Yes, the red roof certainly draws the eye to the lighthouse. Jul 22nd
49 Jul 24 Comment My wife and I also have an affinity for lighthouses with our collection of photos approaching 200 lighthouses. After comparing the B&W version to the color version I think I prefer the color version. The clouds in the B&W version seem to almost overpower the image while I don't have this feeling with the color version.

49 Jul 24 Comment Josh, this is a wonderful landscape photo! It is all very well executed. Sharp from front to back, wonderful star pattern with the sun, composition is spot on. You could remove the flower at bottom center and crop up a tad, but certainly not necessary.

49 Jul 24 Comment This is really a great photo. It certainly catches the viewer's eye and makes me take a second and longer look. You could crop from the left, but it does add context to the image.

49 Jul 24 Comment Great photo of the owl - very sharp and crisp. The out of focus greenery in the upper right is a minor distraction, but I agree with the other comments that the slim portion of the tree trunk on the left is a distraction. I'm not sure that you can crop it out without intruding on the owl itself, so I will suggest just the opposite: include more of the tree trunk. It isn't that the tree trunk is there but how narrow and skinny it is. If you don't have it in the original perhaps generative AI, but that violates PSA rules for nature photos.

49 Jul 24 Reply I have posted several (many?) photos from the workshop on Facebook. If you are on FB, search for "Al Kiecker" for a series of 5 postings, one each day of the workshop. Jul 15th
49 Jul 24 Reply At the time the subject was the rolling hills with the shadows. The town gives us a subject to land on and the stream a leading line to guide us. That at least was my intention. Jul 15th
49 Jul 24 Reply I cropped in from the left and converted to B&W with a sepia toning. Thanks for the suggestions. Jul 15th
