Thanks for the link to the diffuser. I will have to look into adding something like this to my kit. |

"Hopefully this little guy gets a copy of it, at some point - it belongs in someone's family photo album!"
Absolutely!! I'd love to give them a copy of the photo, but I am afraid that I have no idea who these people are. At other events when I am more likely to actually interact with the people I will give them a business card with my email so they can contact me and I can give them a photo. |

Thanks Craig! I do like the blurring effect you added. Now if Adobe will just add this to Lightroom ... :-) |

I like how the stacks stand out. They are sharp and contrast nicely with the more subdued far shore. The merge of the middle stack with the background is distracting. If it were sticking out above the mountain background, this would be winner.
Thanks for sharing. |

I too love this image. Not much that I can add. You handled it very well! |

Jo-Ann ... this is a very nice photo! It definitely wants me to be there with you! The comments have been very minor picky, so I will add one of my own. Rotate the photo just a tad counter clockwise. If you notice the vertical lines (masts on the boats, buildings) seem to be leaning to the right. Again easily done in Lightroom.
Thanks for sharing and glad you enjoyed your vacation. |

David, I have to agree with you about Photoshop. I too have taken multiple Photoshop classes but it remains pretty much a mystery to me. As Adobe continues to enhance Lightroom Classic, except for composite images, I am finding less and less need to send an image to Photoshop. |

I would darken the background (I guess that is everything that is green) to emphasize the pink of the flower. The leaves keep drawing my attention away from the flower itself. |

Great shot! The B&W rendition brings out the shapes that are the subject. I agree with the other comments - the windows are rather hot. You might try removing the keystone effect with the transform panel in Lightroom. |

You are right. I definitely do not want to lose the candid approach! |

Yup, I experimented with all those things :-) Usually there is plenty of light (window blinds are open and all the room lights are turned on)and flash is rarely needed. I have considered getting an extension to mount the flash off camera to avoid red eye. Also a larger diffuser as you suggest would be a good idea as I was just using the small diffuser that came with my Nikon speedlight.
Assuming that I do this again next year, I am wondering about placing remote speedlights around the room. What do you think?
Thanks for your response!! |
