49 Oct 22 Comment There are many subjects in this image. Rather than trying to put it all into a single image, would it be possible to concentrate on the details? When photographing what is a busy scene such as this, it often helps to photograph the individual elements simplifying your photo.

What makes this photo are the light beams coming in from the ceiling. They first draw your attention to the brighter area at the top when in actuality they point to that wonderful carving on the lower right. Then we have the deer on the left. I would love to see a photo of just this detail. And the hanging candles. A photo of just a single candle, or how about multiple candles and the pattern that they make.

49 Oct 22 Comment I like how the road leads me through your photo with a pause at the hoime. The rock wall points me to the home on the right. There is good balance between the rock walls on the left and the home on the right. The sky gives kind of an ominous feeling to the entire scene. Very well done! Thanks for sharing with us. Oct 23rd
49 Oct 22 Comment I am sorry Josh, but I am going to take another view on this. My eye wanders all through the image but finds nothing to land on, i.e. there is no center of interest that grabs me and holds my attention. For example a cabin on the lakeshore would have provided a landing spot for my eye and would have told a story of remoteness of the location. Oct 23rd
49 Oct 22 Comment I like this photo of your granddaughter. Removing the distracting background was very well done and concentrates the viewer on your subject. Thanks for sharing with us. Oct 23rd
49 Oct 22 Comment Welcome Owen! I feel like I am coming late to the party. Most folks have already commented on suggested editing improvements to your photo. You mentioned that you are not familiar with Lightroom. There is a wealth of classes and webinars online. I would like to suggest Tim Grey as being one of the best. Last year Tim combined a couple of his classes for my camera club which we then presented via ZOOM to our membership. Check out GreyLearning.com for a complete list of all of his educational opportunities. Oct 22nd
