Wow! What a ride!! This is an excellent action shot. It may have been by chance that the kayakers were there at the time you were, but they certainly add to the story. Your timingof capturing this photo is spot on. Well done!! |

I shot Iguazu Falls many years ago when my wife and I went to South America to visit our daughter in the Peace Corps. It certainly is a very majestic subject and you have made an excellent capture of this subject. I like the dreamy rendition that the long shutter speed has given you. Typically as David has mentioned I use a somewaht shorter shutter speed to retain some detail in the water, but in this case the longer shutter speed creates the dreamy mood for the photo. |

Looking at your exposure settings, you certainly could have used a smaller aperture and a longer shutter speed. I would suggest cropping from the top and left placing the bear in the lower left point. This would give the bear more prominence in the photo but still keeping the photo as a nice environmental shot. |

I do not do portraits so I will be the first to say that I am completely unqualified to give comments. I think your own assessment is spot on. The shadow of the nose does need to be smaller. |
