Stephen's suggestions for post-processing make the image appear sharper and stands out better than the original.
When the image was taken, I don't see a need for such a fast shutter speed. You could have used a smaller aperture (f/5.6,f/8) with resultant slower shutter speed. This would have resulted in greater DOF, although you are far enough from the subject that DOF seems not to be a problem in this image. Another consideration though is that most lenses are sharper 2-3 stops down from wide open. If possible I always try to shoot in this "sweet spot" of the lens.

I like how the subject is sharp from near to far (nice DOF) with the sharp dragonfly(?) adding additional interest. The dark background really makes the flower stand out. I do not find the green upper right distracting, but the four bright spots could be removed. |

You have done a nice job of separating the subject from the background. The subject is sharp, background blurred; the subject is dark, the background light but does not distract. |
