49 Feb 21 Comment I love the raised foot! I do agree with Graham that a tighter crop would help. I find the rock top center to be particularly distracting. Feb 18th
49 Feb 21 Comment This is a very nice peaceful image, one that belies the location in the background. Feb 18th
49 Feb 21 Comment I like this photo! The flower is nice and sharp. The color grabs the viewer right away. It really stands out. I would suggest cropping in from both sides, turning this in to a vertical. Well done! Feb 18th
49 Feb 21 Comment New camera? We need details :-)

B&W works well with forest scenes in the winter. I am distracted by the out of focus foreground. With a 70mm focal length it is difficult to keep foreground and background both in focus. A wide angle lens will give you the DOF that you need. For example, a 16mm lens at f/16 will keep everything from less than 1' to infinity in focus (watch your tripod legs) when set to the hyperfocal distance of about 2'. With a longer focal length such as you used, focus stacking techniques can be used to keep everything in focus from foreground to background.

49 Feb 21 Comment I like composition of this photo. I am a fan of blue skies and fluffy white clouds, but this sky adds to the mood of the photo. I do want to ask ... the color seems off, like the white balance should be adjusted. Or is this what you were going for? Feb 18th
49 Feb 21 Reply Thanks Graham. This has been a fun exercise. I have continued taking photos as long as the temperature has been cold enough. The cold stretch has passed so I think I have to retire this project until next winter. The biggest problem is reflection of the light(s) in the bubble. Since the bubble is a sphere it is nearly impossible to avoid reflections and hence hot spots. I have tried to minimize the intensity of the hot spots by using HDR. I have tried using Photoshop to eliminate the hot spots but this has proven to be problematic at best. I have attached on of my favorite photos. We have a salon topic of "Abstract" coming up in April that I will probably enter this photo. Feb 18th
