All the images that I submitted to our May salon were taken with this lens. It will be interesting to hear the judges comments. Some folks like the distorted look, others not. |

The fisheye kind of forces you to take a different look at the world. My first time out with a friend, as we were searching for possible subjects, he made a comment "Almost anything is a subject if you are close enough to it".
As for getting one, it probably is not a lens that you will use a lot so I suggest looking for a used one. |

Wonderful capture! As Larry suggested, you might try cropping in a bit. |

Oh my ... I hope you were able to recover everything!
And I have to agree with Fred. Everything is spot on. |

Very interesting photo. I agree with Stephen; the big sky really works! |

Beautiful image! I really like it. I do agree with Fred that the upper left is a bit distracting. Since the five other blossoms are in focus (mostly), how about cropping in from the left? |

That was my first thought too, but as I started moving the edge in there always seemed to be something merging with the edge or hanging near the edge just begging the viewer to ask "what is that?" I finally decided this still presented enough of the Capitol so that the viewer knew what the background was. The second image is what I have submitted for our monthly salon. Thanks for the suggestion to crop! I like it much better! |

How is this crop? Too far?
I'd like to capture the entire building but you run in to all kinds of issues doing that. Stepping back brings a wall and railing into the photo which I purposefully left out. And I definitely don't want to lose the dominance of the statue. I think that is what makes the photo.
I think a return trip is in order as soon as our governor says I can leave the house :-) |

I like the crop that Larry suggested. I do wish there was a bit more room at the bottom. The walkers feet are too close to the edge. |
