The lighting on the face is incorrect :-( In the original photo he was looking into the sun so his face was light. Now he is looking away from the sun, his face should be in shadow but is not :-( Decent job pasting it in though!
This is something I always point out to folks when they are replacing a sky. You need to look to see where the shadows are and make sure that the sky you are using could create those shadows. And if it is an overcast day with no shadows, a blue sky with white fluffy clouds probably would be generating shadows. |

You are correct in that snow AND fall colors is a short period, in fact usually does not occur. That is why November is my least favorite month. Typically the leaves have all fallen but the snow has not yet occurred to brighten everything. Usually just dull and grey. This is why I was so excited to get out for the first snowfall. It isn't usually so early in the season.
Thanks everyone for the comments and suggestions! |

You folks have all given Fred some excellent suggestions on his very nice photo. I have just one nit … I wish the person was looking into the photo rather than out of the photo. |

Tom - we are supposed to get a couple inches of new snow tonight. I am thinking tomorrow would be a good opportunity to return. I will keep your suggestion in mind but I doubt that there will be any leaves on any trees of any kind :-( Thanks for the suggestion! |

Another of my favorite subjects this month - church interiors. Very well done. You carried the detail throughout the image particularly well. |

Graham - one of my favorite subjects is city skyscapes taken at night. I love the composition of this image, particularly the reflection of the city lights in the water. I do keep wondering if moving more to right (if that were possible) you could have used the bridge as a lovely leading line. The colors are wonderful!
I do think I need to consider a trip to Cincinatti. This is a wonderful image! |

Interesting image. I think all the reviewers encountered the same problem ("what am I looking at"). A tighter crop seems to be the common response. I tend to agree. |

By cropping in so far from the right we lose the context of where the branches are coming from. Also, and more importantly, in the crop I provided the branches came directly from the lower right corner making a leading line to the yellow leaves and then following the curve of the branch around the waterfall. I think this is lost when cropping in so far. |
