I don't recall if it was snowing or not; I don't think so. Now that the streaks are mentioned I see them too. I have no explanation. |

Others from my camera club have pointed out a green cast in the shadows. Perhaps that is what you are seeing. I need to see what I can do about that. Thanks for the comments. |

One of our club members is an excellent and skilled airplane photographer, so I asked him to help me by taking a look at this photo and provide me with his comments. Here is comments about this photo and suggestion for the future.
"Here's my analysis... take it with a grain of salt just a opinion.
"Great job on slow down the shutter to capture the nice looking disc on the propeller. It shows good action and does not look like a popcicle stick. The photo suffers from heat haze and distort the photo when you zoom in closer. This usually occur during midday when the sun is heating up the runway creating the distortion. My advice wait until later in the day and you have better lighting and less haze."

A nice photo of the coyote. The cropping made a huge improvement in the photo!
I suggest bringing the side of the coyote out of the shadow. I brought it into LT, and with the brush tool I highlited the side of the coyote. I increased the exposure and shadow sliders and decreased the highlight slider to compensate for the increased exposure.

This is a beautiful sunset, but I wonder of you might want to crop in a tad tighter. This would put more concentration on the people in the photo. It would be telling a different story than the one you had in mind, but perhaps a more compelling story. Something to consider anyway. |

There are so many ways to depict a B&W image when you convert a color image. I am never sure of what is best. :-)
Did you ever shoot B&W film? In those past days we used a variety of colored filters (red, yellow, etc) to increase the contrast of the sky. I use NIK Silver Efx for my B&W conversions. It has the same colored filters that we used with film and gives excellent results. Before I started using the NIK plugins, I used Photoshop "Channel Mixer" to achieve similar results. I have not used Lightroom for my B&W conversions so am unfamilar how much control you have.
The NIK plugins were available free from Google for some time, but they have now been purchased by DxO. They promise a new release this summer, but I am unsure of the current status of NIK. |

Fred, the image shows rather small on my screen. Is there a chance of you supplying a larger image so that we can see it better? I find it very hard to see what I am looking at. |
