This is a great example of seeing the result before the image is made. I doubt that I'd have seen it. |

The motion, colors and sharp details in this image are really good. My only suggestion is for you to decide on the frame size. |

This is a pretty good shot from a moving bus! Nice composition and colors. My only suggestion is to darken the yellow house and orange roof as they are drawing attention away from your subject. |

I like the idea, but I don't know if it works very well. There's so much stuff in the image to pull our eyes away that the importance of the barrel seems to be lost. I tried darkening the barrel and the pick and I'm not sure there's any improvement. Doesn't seem to be up to your standards, Judy? |

These underwater shots are intriguing, Stephan. If you separate Rahiti from her reflection you would never know she's underwater. Your composition and colors are very good. My only suggestion is to darken the light areas in her face and fingers. |

Interesting image, Tim. I'm almost getting a crick in my neck viewing it! I like your composition, we get to see lots of the interior. I think it's a bit too bright, so I adjusted the shadows and contrast a bit. I think it brings more details to the surface. What do you think? |

Thanks, Ata. As I mentioned to Arne, I have difficulty recognizing noise. Is there a simple method you used to see the noise when you first looked at the image? |

Thanks, Arne. One thing I have difficulty recognizing is noise. Even with your mentioning it, I still do not see it in this image. I'm wondering if it's apparent at this size or do I need to magnify the image to see it? I do see what seems to be a slight backward tilt to the lighthouse. |

Thanks, Haru. Pano, whether vertical or horizontal is an area that I have not ventured into at this point. I will keep your suggestion in mind. |

I don't have any constructive comments, but I do have a couple of things I've learned from this posting, Haru.
First, I've been reluctant to shoot from the side of the falls and what I learned here is that my results were poor because I was too close to the falls.
Second, I learned from Dick's adjustments that there's a I don't have to back up too far to obtain a better result and, that dodging the waters that are moving away from the falls is also helpful.
So, thanks to both of you. |

Another really good people image, Ata. I think she's angry. Her expression is one I've see a few times and I'm a bit unnerved when that happens. I like that you chose to show the entire scene, not just the primary subject. |

My first two thoughts on viewing this image were: I have to get back to Yellowstone and the coyote needs to be emphasized a bit more. I like Haru's idea, but think the cropping should be a bit more from the bottom because the trees are an integral part of the scene. |

It's always interesting to read the comments of the members of this group. I think they, generally, tilt in one direction with the exception of a member, or two. But all offer experienced, educated commentary.
I look at this image and think about seeing it in a gallery, or museum and, with "Island Bridge" by Trevor Harvey on a small plague below it. I would probably see this a sunrise image, and I would think the storm is leaving, not arriving.
Having said all that, I am pleased with this image as is. |

I'm also unfamiliar with the two plants. The frailness of the flower is well-represented in your image, as is the peril present in the closeness of the thorn. I agree with Arne's comment regarding the branch/vegetation behind the flower. |

I like your positioning of the sculpture and Haru's cropping adds to that. The contrasts of the grays and dark shoreline with the sculpture really pull my eyes to figure. I think this is a big improvement from last month's image. |

Nothing like finding a group of photogenic buskers! I like the way your DOF segregated the group from the background yet left it so we'd know what's there. Nice composition and colors. |

Thanks, Stuart. In the original image, I thought I might able to do something with the background, when that proved to be unachievable I turned it black. |

Thanks, Stuart. I went back and forth about removing that hole and I guess I should have. |
