29 Aug 21 Comment Karen, I have tried to contact you a couple of times via email and get this message - The response from the remote server was:

Please update your email in the system and also send me an email from that same email address.

29 Aug 21 Reply Thanks, Bob. I used to carry, at least, 50mm, 18-70mm, and 150mm macro, rarely the 10-20mm. That insect and I were dancing for a couple of minutes. As I kept getting closer, it would leave and then come back to the same spot, and I kept shooting. I have no qualms about going into gardens - I've been to Longwood more than 100 times over the past 10 years and no one has ever said a word to me. I'm careful about where I go and have never damaged a plant. I'll definitely be doing more experimenting with that 10-20mm lens.

29 Aug 21 Comment I like the serenity/mystery of this image. And, your choice of sky was a good one. I like the silhouetted foliage and the darkness of the ground, enhanced by the blue fog. Very nice! Aug 13th
29 Aug 21 Comment Surrealism! I like the sky and trees. I don't think the polo horses/players lend enough incongruity to the image. Maybe something rising out of the water - something that doesn't belong in water. Aug 13th
29 Aug 21 Comment Red sky at night, sailor's delight...
I think this is a very good minimalist, silhouette image. Just a few colors and a few objects, well composed and sharp. Good job!

29 Aug 21 Comment I like the idea and I think you've executed it pretty well. The only suggestion I have is to darken the short white pieces across the upper portion of the image. Aug 13th
29 Aug 21 Comment Nice PJ idea. For me, it's not quite in focus and really cramped in the composition. I think f/11 would have eliminated the focus problem. I don't know that stepping back would have solved the composition or if you might have cropped something out that we wouldn't want to see? Aug 13th

74 Aug 21 Reply Ata, do you use an app to extract the exif info? This is something I do not know how to do. Aug 14th
74 Aug 21 Comment Arne, I felt that your first posting of this image was very eerie, and seeing your revision I still think it's eerie, but no so much now. I think you've resolved Haru's issue of not having a place to look beyond the sculpture. Your adjustments to the highlights and contrasts make the image move viewable.
I think it's very generous of you to share you work with the sculpture artist.

80 Aug 21 Reply Thanks, Bev. I don't usually look at comments this soon after I post my images, but I was intrigued by the quickness this time. I don't particularly like the headless people in the background but I couldn't find a solution I liked. I have to say that I also don't like the option you show here - it's too inexact. The girls' heads are distorted, as is a jar and the upper right corner. It might work if you took a longer route, similar to the four Curves Layers that I used on the jars? Aug 3rd

95 Aug 21 Reply I almost NEVER use my tripod. I recently bought a rail with the thought of putting it on the tripod for, initially, some macro garden shots. The other thing I almost NEVER do is indoor photography in my apartment.

With all that being said, I'd be happy to read your article Carol, thank you for the offer.

95 Aug 21 Reply Thanks, Carol. The original was a "close-up", not a macro image. The tree that the bark is lying on came to about mid-thigh on me. What's interesting to me about the original is, while I was focused on the bark, I think the tree is more in focus?
I'm getting very challenged to find a worthy subject. I don't know if it's the time of year or my choice of geographic area?
