Interesting image, Tam. To me, it's more a Photo-Journalism image than any other category. As such, it works. |

Stephan, there aren't a lot of rules for Street Photography. In fact, people are not a requirement, so having the subject's back to us would not be an issue. |

Thanks, Bob. I thought about lightening the shadows but, as you may notice, that occurs in various areas of the image, wherever the remaining dark clouds are located, so I chose to leave those areas untouched. |

Beautiful colors and very good composition. Perhaps lightening the water so the balloon color match? I think the kayaks add to the story. |

The snowflakes add so much to this image. The composition could be debated about centered vs. off-center. I agree with Stephan that have a glowing lantern would enhance the image. |

My first thought on seeing this image was, "It looks like something from an old cowboy movie." I still think that way. I think you nailed the color and clarity. I wonder if the composition would be better if the image were cropped to eliminate the post in the lower portion? |

I think this image is similar to a Rorschach Test, or approaching a Dali and asking yourself, "What is that?. It does have surreal element to it. It took me a bit of time to see Pauline's head because her hair blends into the background. And I'm wondering about the blurred portion above her. Did you do that, or is it water movement?
@sealegacy (Instagram) is constantly providing visual/personal information that sharks are not dangerous to humans. Some of it is very compelling. |

Thanks, Haru. I was going for the moody look, but your adjustment fits the title a lot better. Here's my idea on how that show look. Thanks for pushing me to think a bit differently. |

I think your choices of conversion to monochrome and cropped area were very good. I don't see any nits that warrant a comment. I don't want to walk into that guy's barbershop!! |

The interaction between your subjects really makes this image. It appears to me that I'm viewing a composite, where you placed the subjects on the background? |

I get the impression you shot the end of incident? It appears that the fire crew is putting things away? Also, there are no other people in the image - fires draw people (or we wouldn't be looking at this image!). All that makes me think of this as more of a PJ image, than Street. |

Very nice "boy and his dog" image, Carol. The crop is good and the colors are terrific. My nit is with the shovel handle in the background - clone it out? |

A classic street scene that even includes a street! Nice composition, good handling of the night lighting, people in motion, all good elements. The only nit I have is to perhaps clone out the object on the lower right (palmetto?). |

Thanks, Tom. I've become convinced that sharpness really is impacted by the monitor it's viewed upon, and/or the visual acuity of the viewer. |

Thanks, Stuart. Don't know if it's a stinger, first time seeing it and I've not been able to find information in my searches. Regarding handheld, I will typically make three images. My experience has been that, more often than not, the first is the sharpest. |

I think this image has an air of mystery about it. As Tom mentioned, we're used to seeing tack sharp in macro and you've presented us with a large percentage of your image not sharp. It's as if the flower is floating on a sea of white. |

At this point I have zero knowledge of stacking, so I won't be commenting on that. I do, however, have some knowledge of droplets and yours are very good, convincing me that more is not a bad thing. I like that they can be seen in the heart of the flower. |

Tom, you implement suggestions very well. The "redo" image has a competition feel to it (although I've never competed and don't aspire to). I spent some real money on mums over the years and I've never imaged they look like this at macro range. |

I think you and Tom have convinced me not to consider purchasing a microscope! ;-)
If you hadn't titled the image I might have guessed a fish's scales or, maybe the edge of a piece of fabric. Is this the outer-, or under-, side of the wing? The texture is intriguing. The color's kind of eerie. |
