30 Dec 20 Reply Hi Robert, I'm Bill Foy, visiting from 29, 74, 80 & 95. You roused my curiosity - a rather easy thing to do, just mention something that sounds interesting that I have not a clue about - who is Davis, and what is the Davis technique? Dec 5th

74 Dec 20 Comment Thanks, Arne. I never noticed that black line until you mentioned it. Dec 20th
74 Dec 20 Reply Thanks, Ata. Your comment regarding the adjustment of the color image is very timely, as I am right at the point of dealing with color balance in the Photoshop class I am working my way through. Prior to this, I had never considered adjusting the color image prior to conversion to monochrome. Dec 20th
74 Dec 20 Reply Thanks, Ying. Dec 20th
74 Dec 20 Reply Thanks, Haru. Your adjustment is a definite improvement. I am always leery of adding too much contrast. Dec 20th
74 Dec 20 Comment I agree with Arne. I find the image a bit disorienting. I knew you were under the waterfall when you made the image, but I though you had, perhaps, added a silhouette to the top and side as a frame. I think the waterfall and landscape are beautiful together, but as Arne mentions, bringing the top of the cave into view would be a definite improvement. Dec 20th
74 Dec 20 Comment Arne is right about panning taking time to learn, I have the hours at a horse racing venue to prove it. I, too, have those almost 60 year-old images of the Galata Bridge. I definitely prefer you monochrome version of this image. Dec 20th
74 Dec 20 Comment There is a nice tonal range to this image. This is a terrific motion image showing the decisive moment, with the subject(s) is perfect focus. Regarding the ball, I agree with Larry Treadwell, the dog's eye is a millisecond from being directly over the ball, it has to be looking at what's next. Dec 20th
74 Dec 20 Comment A great choice for monochrome, Arne. Your editing turns day to night and makes this much more enjoyable to view. Dec 20th

95 Dec 20 Reply Stuart, if you look at the first paragraph of your explanation of what we're seeing, you see you mentioned that you were giving me a 1:1 as the original. That's how it was posted. Dec 5th
